Is there any build number info by year per color/interior combinations?

I picked up a 92' Black w/ Black leather interior all the options etc... and since i've never actually seen a 92' in person before it got me wondering how rare it really is? Car was built in March of 92'.

Welcome to the '92 Club! We have the 2nd rarest Supra (behind '96 Supras), so definitely take care of her!

More so than the teal 92 or Turbo A?

Anyway, nice find to the OP, should post up a few pictures! :)

Also, is a working power antenna really all that strange? I don't listen to radio (sucks around here, and where I bought the car in Phoenix, you didn't need an antenna due to really strong signals), so I've long since disconnected mine...

It will be up for sale shortly, I found it in the basement of a forclosed home. I have been out of the supra scene for quite awhile and don't really have any interest in getting back in right now (my H1 hummer sucks up all the money). But I do still have the first set of wheels I ever bought but never used in storage for my dream supra some day (17x9 & 17x10 flat black FN01R-C's).

Also it has a GAB strut tower bar, how much is that worth? Probably going to sell it seperate since it is the only thing thats not stock.

I meant rare as a total production year in the US, there are 92's in other countries and even 93.0's (compared to the 93.5 MKIV).

Also all 3 of my cars have working power antennas now..:D

Working power antenna, factory CD player, cupholders, full set of targa tools and hole covers, 1992 TSRM in perfect shape, all the original brochures that came with it new, and the coin box cover actually opens and closes correctly not to mention heated seats......all things i've never seen in an MK3 hah and i've had 11 now.

115k, turbo targa 5-Speed, and yeah it has heated seats, I can take a picture of the switch if you want, confused me as well. You know how the wire connectors to all the termostat housing coolant sensors are usually corroded and about to fall off, these look brand new, the whole engine bay is so clean I don't want to drive it lol. When I get a chance this weekend i'm going to detail it and then just put it under a tarp until its sold.

Heated seats? Wasn't that a Canada only option?
That's what I always thought... wish mine had them, even though my heater works great, still feels nice. Plus you can cruise with the targa off on cooler days comfortably that way!

Why sell the car, to fund the H1 (cool by the way, very cool)? If you've got a nice, clean Supra, why not just keep it to use as your dream car? The Mk3 isn't exactly rare as a car, but finding one in really good shape...

Heated seats are really quite simple to add. It's a simple layer that goes between the cushion and the upholstery... the biggest pain is pulling off the original upholstery, and even that's not hard with an industrial set of side cutters. Then you need a bunch of hogrings and a set of hogring pliers to put it back on after inserting the heater layer... probably pay $30 for the tools and rings. The actual heating units cost about $100 per seat, and include everything needed except the rings and tools.

The MK3 isn't my dream supra, my dream is that some day Mitsubishi and Mazda bring back a newer version of the FD RX7 and 3000GT to compete with the Nissan GT-R and then Toyota drops a bomb on their face just like the MK4 Supra did back in 1993.5

Granted the Z32 300ZX wasn't a Skyline but in Toyota fashion they wait for everyone else to show their cards and then drop a royal flush on the table. The Z32 was out in late 89', then the 3000GT in 91', then the RX7 early 93', then the Supra 93.5'.

Notice Nissan was first, I know this is a long shot but I can't believe Toyota will let the GT-R stay stateside without an answer. Along with the turbo diesel Tundra that is inevitable. And don't say the LF-A counts because that was just a pet car porn project by Toyota's owner that lost them money but was so cool he had to do it. Then they gave one to Kyle Busch which made me want to punch myself in the balls.

And ya heated seats are easy, I would not doubt that someone put them in this car as an after thought and just bought the factory canada switch to make them look original.

Sorry dude but the mk4 never sold that many of them period. Compared to the Z and 3000GT. Even nissan and mitsubishi had issues and look at mazda they pulled out in 95. Imho the mk4 when it was being sold new never gave me that omfg wow factor. It was a nice car tho.

Good info man, I've seen a thread or two on here detailing the procedure, and it's a possibility for a future project, but who knows... Mk3 won't be driven much in the winter once I'm done with it, for fear of those who can't handle snow driving.

Sound logic, but I unfortunately don't see it happening. Depending on how the FT/FRS thing turns out, I wouldn't mind looking into one, simply to encourage car makers to build things that the enthusiast can enjoy. For me and my girlfriend, there is no reason to pay attention to a manufacturer's lineup if they don't have a sporty car. Toyota currently is without, as is Honda, and Mitsu as well.

I hate subarus, the boxer engine is a terrible design from an engineering standpoint as far as long term reliability and engine balance. I would rather shoot myself in the foot than buy a subaru engine equipped throwback to the legend that the AE86 is, it is a horrible shame and disgrace. Just like the FJ Cruiser which was just a 4-runner with a different body. The FJ-40 was my first vehicle when I was 14 and I love landcruisers more than any other vehicle. The FJ Cruiser and FT/S are just using the legends and stories created by some of the best engineered vehicles on the planet that started Toyota's profit margin (corolla and landcruiser) to make a dollar. Makes me want to disown Toyota.

No love for the Subaru huh? I could probably count a dozen Subarus with more than 200k on the clock to every running Supra in the area I'm in... not to mention the Beetle, only problem with those boxers is the lack of oomph. I for one am looking forward to seeing how the new Toyota turns out. Not holding my breath as I fully expect them to screw it up, and make it a slow bloated pig of a car, but you never know...

200k with 5 headgaskets replaced, and comparing the number of subarus on the road to supras is stupid, there are 20x more subarus built. My brothers forester blew the headgasket at 60k miles, and then the other bank at 75k. And they leak more oil than the gulf spill due to the lack of drainage.

Which is stronger and more reliable, 2JZ or EJ-25? The boxer engine will never compare to an I-6 or 90 degree V8 or V12 as far as natural design goes. Go count the number of corollas and toyota trucks/landcruisers everywhere else in the world. 95% of every car in afghanistan cities are corollas. And they all have 300k to 500k.

Plus not to mention subaru transmissions are made out of paper, along with the rear diffs, youtube subaru breaking axle lol.

Fair enough I suppose. Great engine in theory though, at least from a handling perspective, short crank and low center of gravity, plus low overall weight. I would say Porsche has been doing right by the boxer engine, but using Porsche as a measure of what is "right" is a bit of an odd measuring stick haha...
