Is the GT3540R turbo worth the money?

i believe mrsupra has a non-bb. also, ij, how much power have you put down on high boost, and on street gas? what pressure was that at?

this thought came to me as I was sitting in bed trying to fall asleep last night....
why has no company ever tried to place an injector, or two, or three, or four in the exhaust houseing that sprays onto the turbine at low rpms to get it to spool? not a gas injector, but an air injector, so more like a jet. or even simpler, there could be an exhaust venturi to increase exhaust velocity to get the turbine spinning faster earlier. if you placed the jets at an angle directed at the turbine fins, do you think it would spool up faster?

this has been another episode of inside jorgen's mind.....

backpressure? who knows, but that would require a tank of air...

Might be good for a drag car, but I know there's got to be a reason not to do it (maybe the cooling effect of compressed air would crack stuff?)

Nitrous setups have been designed just for spool. A small hit that leans out the motor early, but shuts down the spray as RPM increases.

Air itself isn't such a good idea, as it will cool the exhaust too soon. The hot gasses expanding is what drives the turbine.

Dont World Rally cars use anti lag devices for their turbos?
They cause an explosion in the exhaust before the turbine to spool it.

And how much would it cost to do a E85 conversion?

Cheers,

depends :)

power goals? REALISTICALLY not... yeah I want 1000 rwhp. lol

but basically..

on stock everything (save for fuel manangment but standalone preffered), stock 440c/min injectors, stock fuel pump stock everything.

take the rwhp and subtract 10%-30% power. Not because of power producing but because you will take the injectors into thier 85% duty cycle sooner because you must flow 20%-30% more fuel with e85. Want more power? That is when the bill goes sky high quickly. Put it to you this way. To get to 800 rwhp needs THREE walbro 255lph high pressure pumps and at a very minimum 1000cc/min injectors. That means BIG lines -10 at a minimum for fueling.
