92 full 1jz swap running open dp walbro 255 fuel pump NGK4644 spark plugs knn 4in air filter it hits full boost at about 12-13psi and it hits it strong with no brake up and it idles ok but some time it wood go crazy and start misfiring making a lot of white smoke and the motor cant idle and dies out..am thinking its the ECU because i called Aaron at driftmotion and he told me that its a common problem with the 1j ecu and that it needs to be re caped

Could be the ECU, check your spark plug gap, coils for cracks, wiring for cracks or breaks as well as reversed wires from someone trying to fix it before.

I think stock 1jz should be ok with .32 gap i had ngk irridium plugs with this gap and they performed really well with stock boost.

White smoke is coolant. Could be a turbo, headgasket, or a leaking water pump, among other things. Have you tried pressure testing the cooling system?
EDIT: If its causing it to misfire/die, it sounds like a BHG. That is assuming its burning coolant. But you say it only does it sometimes, so IDK. I would start by pressure testing the cooling system.

turbo will be blue smoke but doesn't usually produce the same symptoms. i usually tie the "weird" stuff to the ECU as they are known for their.. "reliability"
