I have a new Garrett GT3076R (.57trim) internally gated turbo, that I'm contemplating making into an externally gated unit. Is it as simple as just "welding" the waste gate flapper shut, and buying a header manifold w/ a external wg? or is there more to it than meets the eye?
I don't want to deal with a boost creep issue when pushing this turbo hard on high boost. And, nothing beats the sound of a Tial wg wide open on the dyno!!!
