well i have searched but found nothing just but random stuff, well i ordered clear headlights with hid separate from different companies, and was wondering if any one has a wiring diagram of the stock harness to know which is ground and positive unless some one already know the colors, i tried the plug and play but for some reason only the highbeam works, but not the actual hid bulb

Not another one...

Even when you get this working, it's going to suck. HID bulbs in E-code housings are marginal at best, downgrade the housings to the clear junk and it's going to blind oncoming drivers on top of doing a piss poor job of lighting up the road.

No, actually, it's NOT OK. I have HID's on my MKIV. I have over $1200 invested in the headlights... European glass housings with proper HID projectors and retrofit HID's from a Mercedes. This bullshit eBay cheap crap you guys insist upon using is junk, it blinds other drivers and overall it's dangerous.

With proper projectors or housings designed for HID bulbs. Not with housings designed for a halogen bulb (which has a different beam pattern)...

There are a lot of things you can do to your car to IMPROVE it. The way you are going about this isn't an improvement, in fact it's a safety hazard. If you don't want to listen, don't... You're entitled to be a fool, but I'm certainly not helping you do it...

Blinding other drivers is a doubtful thing to love.

i hate those people that buy the cheapest brightest lights they can have and just blind the f@#$ out of you. you cant even see your own lane and your eyes are messed up even after they pass as you cannot look away as your driving and have to maek sure you dont hit the fool even tho cannot determine where the f he is.

op get some real hid's with real projectors and dont skimp out like a cheap F@#$.

The factory cars have them because the factory cars have projectors from the factory. All you are going to do is blind the people driving in front of you and the people coming at you. How hard is it to understand?? Seriously!! Its common sense. Different types of light require different optics. I have about 800 into my last setup. I just did 4 FX-Rs on my buddies cobalt and it came out so amazing. Your car will look like a 3rd grader did it no matter what you do with the housings you have.

do you always need projectors with HIDs..?

I don't think Lincoln MKVIII's have projectors, and late model S class Mercedes have dispersion lines..

maybe down the line someone will develop HID compatible housings with dispersion lines (maybe Cibie headlights..?)

i see projectors in the benz at least i do. projectors project the light in to the pattern you see on walls. without them all you see is brighter light that blinds you like if you have super high beams in stock lights.

No you dont always need projectors for HID to function properly BUT those housings are specially designed to work with HID, for examples: 07 avalons, 07 prius, 04-05 stis, some mercedes, and yes i kno they also produced a perfect cut off pattern. But yes, for our car, you will need projector retrofit to not blind on comming traffic. I had HID+ ebay housing with spacers for the bulb to be out a bit to reduced glare still horrible, also had Hella e-code with spacers and by far they worked pretty well. But i have a set of retrofit right now that works great but i'd like to use a set of either tsk or fx35 projectors.

there is a major difference between non projector and projector hid's. i have oem projector hids with 5k bulbs and perfect cut off that dont blind people.

I'm going to be nice and say this. Will the H4 rebased HID's work good with E-code housings? Yes, they glare less than a good rewire normal halogen with DOT housings.

BUT The chinese rebased HID kits are GARBAGE. The ballasts are shit, the controller is shit, the actuators are shit, and the bulbs are shit. Overall, you're wasting money because they will last a year at best if used everyday.

Now, there are adapters for H4 housing that are basicly a large shield that will prevent any glare. They're made to to be used with OEM HID bulbs and ballasts. You ONLY get low beam with those though. The best is a OEM projector retrofit as it does everything the right way.

By the same logic, I love driving around with my high beams on all the time. I can see WAY better! The only annoying thing is when the oncoming traffic flashes me, I really wish they would stop that.

only time i ever get blind from a person that has HID are the cars that come from factory, few of the people where i live that has the hid from aftermarket is not that bright, and the one that i had a long time ago lasted me for 2 years with no problems, and one of my cousins from PR that had it for a little over 3 years with the same brand, and i know a couple people from Florida that has hid on corollas and such with no problems and they also have factory or aftermarket headlights and dont have problems, maby it all depends on the brand and such? but idk not trying to argue here, just saying on what i know from experience, also i had my hid running earlier today and seemed fine for me, and i try to aim the light a bit lower to the floor than a lot in the air.

right................the factory manufacturers are going to produce headlights that blind people and are illegal. right. just right. you might want to look up what exactly is legal.
