Installed new dp, now I hit boost cut.

I just installed a 3" elbow, d/p and cat to match my 3" exhaust. Since I did that I've started hitting boost cut. I do have a bov vented to atm, but that didn't cause me any problems before. Also, I was hitting 11ish psi on the wastegate before the dp with no problems now I see 10.2 psi peak when I hit cut.

Cliff Notes:
1-Hitting 11psi all day no problems with bov vented to atm
2-installed 3" turbo back
3-hitting boost cut at 10.1 to 10.5 psi

theres no problem. if there arent any boost leaks (that cause premature boost cut on the 7M) then what you are describing is normal vehicle behavior.

Cooler air has more density. The AFM and computer don't care about how much psi you are running, but how much air it is seeing. When it senses too much, it will take corrective measures. Considered backing out the screw on the bottom of your AFM to allow more pirate air through?

All I meant by my post was it's volume related NOT pressure as he's questioning hitting fuel cut at only 11Psi, install a GT45 and watch it hit FC at 2Psi ;)

NFI on the AFM adustment never owned one.

Wouldn't that make sense then, you're increasing Volume though right when you use that screw?

uhm..:)

you are increasing airflow that the KV sensor does not see. so the ECU dosnt know its there, hence fuel cut is "raised".

not really increasing volume with that screw....your just letting more unmetered air in...the car will flow the same amount of air but just won't let the ecu know....all in all a bad idea without a piggyback and wideband to make sure you don't go lean.

I seriously doubt he's going to be lean with the basic mods he's got right now as the supra is tuned on the richer side stock.

Widebands are a great investment though!

I see the screw and plug. Is it a cover over the screw? How did you get the cover off

I drilled the center then took a flat head pried it out, was not hard for me, I didn't use this on my car. I was just curious what was under the plug. The screw has a Flat head tip so you can adjust it though.

Worthwhile post... Any insight as to what the problem may be since I'm not sure? I have already done a boost leak test after I put on my hard pipes.

You didn't say there was a problem.

See Suprasport about a larger airflow meter and the correct injectors to remove fuel cut. If you plan on a big build, find a different way.
