Ok, i need some help guys. I was crusin down the highway last weekend when my car stalled. since it was still in gear, it started right back up. i thought this was wierd but i kept going. then only a few seconds later the car died again, but this time it didn't start back up. i kept cranking the engine once i was on the side of the road to get it to start again, but it just wouldn't fire up. well yesterday i put a new fuel pump in it, thinking this was the problem ( it wasn't). now it still doesn't run and it's getting spark, fuel, and i checked the intake tubes, and their all good. I'm wondering if somehow the timing is out of wack, because it sounds like it cranks over too fast. what are your thoghts???

the cam is turning. could the belt have jumped while at steady rpm? when this happend i wasn't downshifting or "gettin on it". and the timing marks are still dead on, so i'm pretty sure it's not the timing.

Have you checked for codes?

Its usually the first thing you wanna do anytime something goes wrong...
not to mention it only takes 5mins...

But yes jetjock is right, there is a possibility that the belt jumped. it does happen sometimes.

i've seen it happen where the cps bolts werent torqued and the cps moved. it caused the ignition timing to be seriously retarded and cause some issues. that wouldnt explain the "quick cranking" tho. can't believe you'd jump right the fuel pump. that seems like a lot of hassle without troubleshooting it first.

sure an ic pipe didn't just fall off?
