This is stupid...

I went to my local parts dealer who gives me good deals and i thought about buying platnums but they were considerably more expensive than the copper/standard plugs so i just said screw it im not paying that much for plugs... (no job)

well i ended up getting NGK plugs and they are B8ES model 2411.

I wanted to see if he gave me the right year/engine (not mk2) and checked NGK's part finder site and it says for standard to use part #BCPR5ES-11 stock #6696

so i searched the web for the plug that I bought.... i keep getting ads that is is a SNOWMOBILE sparkplug.... i went out and compared them again and this time notced that the part the socket fits on is MUCH bigger...like something on a short and stubby lawnmower plug.

I'm guessing i'm going to have to return these...??

this stinks. lol. according to kragen they'll fit a 1968 porshe 911 and a 1974 renault R17. crap!:nono:

i did. the new one is a bit shorter on the tip, the end of the threads is even but the sparker tip after that is shorter... and the size socket needed is bigger...a size you commonly see on small engines. that and NGK's site gives 6 plugs for 7mge and none of them match or come close.

http://www.doityourself.com/invt/u187443

that says that they are motorcycle/snowmobile spark plugs... and i dont know enough to see if it will matter. later i think i'm just going to go in and ask him to look up the part number for me.

go to NGK.com there is a search tool for ur car and a turbo and N/A both have 6 NGK plugs to choose from ranging from 1.99 to 10 dollars a plug at a dealer.

i was going to get standards. not what i have to take them back i might get something better.
