Hi guys!

So I fixed my coolant leak problem. And as I went to tighten the alternator belt tension bolt. It broke inside the alternator. So now the broken bolt is in the alternator. I go to drill it out and then the alternator moved and hit against the chasis of the car and near the fuse box in the engine bay. And it spark and smoke everywhere. Now my car won't start. I've looked at the fuses and can't find out where to look.

Thank you for your help!!

This may be a stupid question, but how do you unplug the fusible link? The wire that is in the fuse box? I can't unplug it. When I tried the wire just came off and two little wires are shown now. I think I fucked up again.

My plug doesn't just want to unplug like the picture shown on a different car. My car is an 1987. Please help.. I'm so stupid ....

Thank you guys!

if your ever playing with anything electronic on the car, you always want to take the Negative Battery wire out.

FTFY

The fusable link is attached from the bottom, gotta pull the entire fuse bow out, pull the bottom off, and then snap that block out and unscrew the contacts.

You can replace it with a 100amp version of the other ones like it instead of the wire (like it was on later models)

Thanks guys! I got it out.. Where can I get a 100amp version? And how does that connect to the stock one? Because the stock one has a white and black wire that connects to it. Does the fuse 100amp version come plug and play?

Any picss please? Thank you guys!

I believe you can go to like autozone or advanced to get a new fusible link. As far as 100amps I think that's a little over kill since the stock alt I believe only generates 80 amps or so. you can either go with a universal one or go to the counter and see if they make one just for our car. trust me on this... i have a aftermarket 220 amp alt with 0g wire for it. whenever you do any electrical work you should def take the ground off the battery.
