I know my local auto parts store has a lot of molded lines hanging on theri back wall. If they'll let you come back there and find something, I'm sure you'll find something off another car that will work (you may have to use a barb fitting and extend the one straight end)

I did that on all the hoses that go into the accordian hose and paid probably 1/10th the price of OEM...

why does everybody reccoment champion or elmherst toyota?? are they significantly cheaper than any other toyota dealer? i have one near me where i've ordered parts.....

i just dont see how i can order from some far away toyota dealer when i have one right near me, pay shipping on top of that, and expect to pay less....

Most parts counters sell you the parts at full list. Champion Toyota, Elmhurst, and a handfull of others (including one of my local dealerships) sell for good discounts because it helps drive more business. If you can get something for a decent discount you will send your friends.

I had one of my local parts counters quote me a price on the accordian hose - WOW! Then called Champion Toyota. Including next day air shipping + Saturday delivery it was still considerably cheaper to order from Champion (then Jay Marks Toyota).

^^^That's how most of the parts stores around here have their hoses setup. And I agree, there are somethings where Champion/Jay Marks just flat out rock.

Anyway, here are the parts numbers from AutoZone for GoodYear molded hoses specifically listed as "heater" hose and a couple "related" hoses. Perhaps one of them is it:

"heater"
63124, 63101, 63641

"upper" dunno what that's supposed to mean
61077, 52017 <---EDIT: Checker Auto Parts' website lists these as a "MOLDED RADIATOR HOSE" and "Radiator Coolant Hose", respectively.

"lower"
62077 <---EDIT: Checker Auto Parts' website lists this as a "MOLDED RADIATOR HOSE"

I checked another parts store's online sight and they had the same model numbers listed for GoodYear hoses. Might help narrow the search. If one of them is a match let us know the part number so we can add to our collection of data. ;)

i believe this is it. not goodyear though. its valve to engine i think...there seems to be some kind of valve that it goes to...maybe heater reserculation valve.

http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPag...BH&PartNumber=10888&Description=Hose+-+Heater

Another:
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GAT&mfrpartnumber=18888&parttype=1066&ptset=A

does anybody know if the inner diameter of this pipe is measured in metric or standard? because 3/4 was incorrect and 5/8 looked to small.

i might get this hose later but 20 bux is a lot and if i can get away with a 3 dollar hose, i will.

i'm just going to go buy something.

ok, so the hose i need is most likely the valve to engine hose right?

is that plastic thing that the hose from the engine runs to (to the left) and then into the firewall via another hose a valve? i figured it was a valve for the heater....

if it is the valve to engine hose i'll order one from one of the stores.

The big problem with finding an aftermarket hose from a parts store's website is their wonderful descriptions. Yes, the hose you're looking for runs from the head to the heater control valve... is that it? No idea. I take it there not a NAPA nearby that you could go to with the stocker and just compare them?

I'm pretty sure the hose ID is metric.

aww hell i asked a guy at the store if they even make metric hose and he said no. i f'ing HATE that. i dont think anybody that doesnt know simple stuff like that should work at an auto parts store. unless he was just talking about what he had or what the specific company makes.

i tried a 90 degree pipe and it fit, but it was a tight fit and i didnt care for how cramped it was so i'm taking that back and ordering the one i need. my friend said he can pick me up for a few days.

oh and BTW, i took my hose to two different parts stores to compare, none had anything that was really close to what i needed, and the 90 degree just seems to tight a fit. if i removed the engine hoist thing then i'd have more room..but i'd like the correct hose i guess.

suprahooked - yeah i think that's the one. it has a funny looking accordian part...but i might end up with a different brand. at least i know which of the 3 hoses for the heater i need. i'm ordering it from somewhere tomorrow.

thanks so much for everyone's help.
