Right, Got the book siting right here on my book shelf, All three movies were based off of the ideas in the book, So not surprising that the lead character has the same name, but I just seems a stretch to say the movies are remakes. They all take very different routs to telling the stories that was in the book. Details are different and even locations are different. Because of the vast differences between movies it's difficult to say they were remakes of each other. It's akin to saying Star Trek is a remake of Star Wars because they both take place in space, talk about space ships and deal with aliens. And the original Author, Richard Matheson, only had a hand in the screen play for the first movie, Last man on Earth. He had no involvement in the Omega Man, and Mark Protosevich wrote the script for the latest one. Each movie seems pretty original in it's own way of telling the story.
