he's implying that the N/A cam GEARS are identical to the turbo cam GEARS. it's the INTAKE CAM that's different between turbo and N/A models. ;)

So you have your wg shimmed and an MBC? does this cause the wastegate to not open while building boost. I know that our WG's open as soon as you hit boost and are fully opened at Xpsi. I hear an EBC will fix that issue totally this correct?

I put in four and hit fuel cutoff right away it was actually pretty cool I had never seen my stock boost gauge get pinned like that before. Put in the four washers let it warm up really well. Took it out for a spin and as soon as i got on it the boost gauge was pinned and my engine cut for a second and all was back to normal. So i took out one and was happy with that. But i never knew what i was boosting......just more than seven PSI.

I have learned that CT26's HATE high boost...

My third turbo just crapped out without even shims....the bearing went out this saturday....LOL

cars down, on jackstands under a car cover in the driveway now for a month or two.

the springs in our wastegates are getting old and tired, so they start to open EASIER than they should. i put the washers on there, along with the MBC to allow me to hold my max boost right until redline. no matter what you do, the wastegate will start opening at positive pressure UNLESS you get an EBC, in which case it will stay totally closed until your desired boost setting is reached. :) so yes, that's correct (which is why they help spoolup time as well).

I'm stock, had to take a shim out recently(going easy before I get new headgasket and everything running right)...no intake, stock restrictive exhaust(with an unnattractive leak at the cat)

Damnit, guys... Haven't you learned?
Do breathing mods first, then turn up the boost. Instead, shim the WG and ignore the rest of the attention the car needs?

+1 for teh noo generation of surpa ownrz.... :nono:

Hah, yea where did this come back from?

I was running no cat-back when i shimmed my wastegate, after intake and Intercooler I had to take some shims out to run the same boost(9spi)
I've been meaning to get a MBC but haven't been driving my car so it doesn't matter right now.

Well...MDC's shimmed wastegate kit gave me about 2psi...but I've got other supporting mods now to give me my 15psi. :) +1 for CT26.;)
