Yeah dont do what the last guy who owned my car did... stock a full through 3.5" exhaust straight, and a test pipe with an Apexi N1 muffler.... you think you 3" guys lost power on the N/A? HAHA My car feels like it cant move.

Read the writeup, its exactly what you'll wanna do.

You can work the engine, but you have a heavy car with a small engine. That is why Toyota put a turbocharger on it.

Nitrous is cheap and works.

You don't believe in adding more fuel and air to the combustion chamber? Why not?

BC, he has sworn off the Nitrous due to fellow friends and racers stating its cheap or cheating.. I say, if its real, its available, hows it cheating? Did you strap a gameshark onto your 7m? Of course not.. did you sell your soul to satan? Nope... you took another route of power...

That is a good reason. :thumbsdow

It is your car, so do what you want. But why ask about making it faster then? You increase the engines ability to do work by increasing the amount of fuel that is burned in the engine. You need air to do it.

There are a few ways. One way is to modify the engine to increase its volumetric efficency, and increase the engine speed. That increases torque higer in rpm band, which increases horsepower. You forcefeed the engine more air than it consumes on its own, with a supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous, which Toyota says is the best way to do it, or make the engine itself bigger.

So it is your call.

How about starting with fixing anything that's broken or worn, making sure your tires are at the right pressure, removing intake and exhaust restrictions, bump the timing, run a grade of fuel that actually fits your needs.

Well you did say better acceleration, not all around performance, nitrous wouldn't be that good from a standstill..

Easy and cheap ways to improve your acceleration is reduce weight overall, but to make sure to balance the car out with weight over the rear wheels..

Relocating the battery for example, or getting a much lighter battery is a good way to reduce weight, getting stickier tires on some lightweight wheels, lighter driveshaft, short throw shifter, learning at what rpms are best to launch at, ect.

Try adding something with (JZ & T) in it to your car.

There is only one other thing i can think of that will add even more acceleration to your car!

A JATO pack off of a C-130 Should do the trick.

Uhmmm...No

Nitrous not good from a stand still? It is the easiest way to reduce quarter miles times. Don't base your knoweldge on movies where they push buttons on the steering wheel. If that is what you did. The solenoid is activated when the throttle closes. After the bottle is opened and the circuit is activated. In other words, nitrous is made for the standing start.

That and/or swap the engine with something lighter/newer/better.
This car is just too damn heavy.

EXACTLY!!!

Cheap horsepower for sure but, if overused or used on a weak or worn engine it can be disaster, but then again so can turboing a motor w/ 150k mi. Lots of guys do that.

I'm thinking about adding nitrious to my turbo setup for exactly the reason Nick M is talking about i.e, launching a beast like the Mkiii off the line.
It will blast off like the space shuttle
