Well, the car was $3500, and the 7mgte swap on it was roughly $3000, and now another $6500 for my rebuild, so thats...huh....$13k:3d_frown: And my wife reminds me everyday:rant:
including the cost of the car, roughly 22k has been spent so far. There is still probably 4k to be spent before the car gets put back together, and then another 2ish if I deem it necessary to upgrade the turbo...which I probably will.

Bought the car for $3k.
After the paint job, that adds another $500.
I found a fully built motor at the junk yard, boy was I lucky...got it for $150.

I've had the car for 3 months and I'm up to just under $13,000 with price of car, but not including registration, taxes, inspections, and other miscellaneous expenses (so just the car itself and stuff done to it)... Car itself was $6,300.

I'm at about $12,000, including the cost of the car, ($4800.00) and alot more to come. I never look at it like it's a bad thing though. It's what I choose to do with my hard earned money. And, my car is a 91turbo, 3H8!!!FTW!!!

Nice discussion. Your car is awesome! I've often wondered what does the underneath of your car look like? I've seen it in person, (and also in the magazine
) and IMO its prolly the hottest MK3 on the planet. But being a MK3 owner, I think about the upkeep a 20yr. old car requires. Modding away is fine, but rust, old parts etc. are inevitable. Is the car fresh under the skin as she is on the surface? I'm curious, bec. I just learned my tie end rods are rusted to the point where the shop could not perform an alignment.
I"ve got about $10K incl. price of car and I should be around the 350whp mark. We'll see how long that lasts!

uh like 1600 for the car and about 100 bucks to do a completely fluids change do i count the $1000 car that i took apart and shipped out of my garage just to get my targa top car indoors so the water wouldnt leak in the roof?

well my project car that si not done is well in the 30 k range but i donw lots of steps over the yeasr oi had ti form audio to power more then one motor ect
the new 92 so far is not to much got ti for 6800 spent about 1200 ont he hg job right now so let see fi ti cna keep this one tamed down un like the other one

So far .. on the 89 5speed. - about 8k? on engine. On 90 auto. about 4k? I think.? and lots to go on the 5speed. Check my build thread for parts info.
