I dont want to base my engine's lifespan on luck. I fixed all those bhg's in the pic, plus more. If you have been around 7m's for a while you will eventually think the same way as me.
Well, I have "been around" 7M's quite a while and dont have that "bad luck?"

In fact between my 4 old Supras with no bad Toyota BHG's and a shitload of miles, and the years I spent doing headgaskets at Toyota for the 4 Runner, the 7M is low.

I dont know what to say about you having so many except the repair was done incorrectly. Incorrectly being a broad brush. Like the deck being more than 2 thousandths warped and not junked. Or overheated, and the surfaces were not decked completely flat. Not smooth, flat.

Dean Marcum, whom I don't know except reading his info on forums and his site has put 500 rwhp through his and has blown the piston ring lands with out losing the headgasket. I dont know what the hell is happening to some people here or at SF.

What one guy did or didn't do has no bearing on my judgement. I am talking in general, and generally speaking the 7m stock headgasket blows, literally. I'm going from my own experience working on maybe 50+ Supras, not from what one guy said he did one time on a forum.

How many of those 50+ supras were original gaskets, torqued low from the factory?

How many of the remainder were too much boost without enough fuel?

This one is pretty good, actually. Nobody has started calling anyone names, there's been no mention of a certain dictator in eastern europe in the mid 1900s, and nobody has screamed "JIHAD" at the top of their lungs and tried to stab their nearest Supra neighbor.

Debate is good, it lets the newer members know that the jury is still out on certain topics.
