I have no EGR on my JDM 7M-GTE and I just bought one to put on it if that tells you anything....

Jdub has already pointed out some good reasons for you to keep it.

Easier and cheaper to install an EGR ;)

Why don't you tell him why you need a JDM ECU?

Gas mileage is way over rated............OH wait, gas is going up to $5.00 a gallon.......:aigo:

John, if you told me to pour a quart of Lucas Oil stabilizer and a quart of Crisco grease into my radiator, I would do it.........I'm almost positive that you're smarter than me.......:biglaugh:

I purchased a GTE off another forum member on here which came missing it's EGR, and in it's place it has block off plates. After reading up on the EGR on this forum, I also purchased an EGR from another member to put back on the engine.

Now I just got to find the time to do it........

bad= stock ecu is tunned for it expecting unburnt fuel to aid in detonation resistance under light to moderate throttle in closed loop. the ecu doesnt know there isnt any more gas rich exhaust being piped back into the intake causing increased risk of detonation.

good= the block off plates are shiny?

mine doesnt have it, removed by previous owner.

i could be wrong about this but it looks like only one cylinder (number6) is feeding the egr. is that correct? if so, how rich can that gas be in fuel?
