i have another car but lately i've been dd'ing the supra, and i think that's the best thing to do to get it running reliably. once everything works perfectly i'll probably stop dd'ing in it.

Mine's another DD - since last spring. 190K miles on the odo, new paint/interior, HG on a recent JDM. Mods list is pretty short. Apex intake, 3" exhaust from Elbow through cat and 2.5" catback (for now). Little problems come up once in a while, but I take care of them, and she hasn't failed me on the road yet. When repairs keep her down more than a day or two I have my wife's '99 Windstar to fall back on, but I try to keep this to a minimum for obvious reasons...

I can say this: I spend more time under the hood of this car than any other I've ever owned, but I LOVE THIS CAR!!! There is no way I'm parting ways with her.

I dd my 87 N/A. If I do run in to a problem I drive a Ford F-150 or a Acura MDX which both belong to my dad and which ever he doesn't drive to work that day.

My 87T is my DD, not by choice though... When I first got it (noob), it was the most unreliable POS on the road, I must have push started the thing BY MYSELF like 8 times in my high school parking lot after school, with everyone staring at me like I was insane. Then, I slowly started replacing everything, and now that most stuff has been taken care of, and I know where the car is mechanically, and I have more knowledge and experience, it has been running prefectly and reliably for about 4 months now...I even drove it to SILV (650mi round trip) and it was perfect the whole time. (well, it started to overheat a couple of times, but what can you expect in the middle of the desert? :biglaugh:)

My 88 is the racecar, but has been daily driven many many miles. It's highly modded with a 61 mm turbo, 750 injectors, hardpipes, IC, cam gears, Full exhaust, intake, Emanage Blue, Koyo Radiator, forged wiseco pistons, shot peened stress relieved rods, HKS head gasket, ARP EVERYTHING, new oild pump....yada yada. I've made 4 and 5 hour trips in it with no problems lately(since the new engine).

Its been perfectly reliable, has 131000 miles.

The parts that count toward this reliability: Koyo Radiator, New belts and hoses, NGK plugs and wires, B&m supercooler for oil with thermostat, redline fluids, BRAND NEW wiring harness and AFM, shimmed oil pump, modded pickup for oil pump, ARP studs, mhg, and a good tune.

My 89 Turbo is perfectly reliable also, and is usually my dd, because it is prettier. I rebuilt the engine stock out of spare parts I had... used n/a pistons, new rings, rod bearings, main bearings. New shimmed oil pump, N/A block, Na intake cam, new belts, hoses, plugs, wires, and intake and exhaust. It runs like a champ all the time and is slightly less finiky than my highly modded 88

I say with the correct replacement parts and maintence, these cars are perfectly reliable. After all, they got to be twenty years old somehow.

Mine was a DD for 2 years up until last month. The only reason for my switch to a tercel is financial...70$/week on gas hurts the pocket!

My '87 n/a is my dd. I've owned it for 5 yrs, did alot of work to it, but its a great car. My '88T is undergoing major surgery now, we'll see how temperamental it is...I'm hoping the Supra gods will be happy with me rebuilding everything, since I can only afford to keep one.

I miss driving my 89T every day. From Spring of 96 through fall of 05 I put about 136500 miles on my Supra. Then I parked it, took the nose apart for my headlight project, and sold the rims/tires out from under it. Now it sits on jack stands in the back of my garage with new rims sitting in boxes waiting for rubber. :(

It's my only car, so yeah, i guess its my daily driver. It's expensive, but hey, its better than owning a fiesta ;)

I treat it more like a pet rather than a block of steel on wheels - yes, that means i talk to it - who doesnt? :biglaugh:

Mine has been my DD since I purchased it in 2001. The longest unscheduled downtime I've had in that time period was about a week when a brake caliper froze and I was waiting on parts.

I own a 90 n/a 5 spd. Its been very reliable.I have replaced the original motor with a low mile jdm ge.The car as never given me a problem aside from the motor blowing.Even then i was only stranded a few blocks from my house.
I do own a second car a 88 honda accord lx-i which was my first car and its total junk.So my supra is my dd and has been for the last year and a half.I do lots of highway driving to and from school 50+ miles each way several times a week. I ony have 2 3/4 catback exhuast. I average somewhere in the neighborhood of 27mpg on the highway when i can keep my foot out of throttle. So far i cant ask for nething better she has done me well.

ha last november. Now ive added an intake and 1 peice aluminum driveshaft, she's still chuggin along. Hitting the highway daily. Ony been down once since this post and that was for the d/s.I wonder what another year will bring :)

Volkswagen may claim fahrvergnugen (driving pleasure), but Supra's will bring you fahrverg-orgasm :naughty:

This supra was my daily driver, then i blew the motor. Left me for two months till I got a dodge truck currently daily driver. My supra is coming back hopefully by the end of the month while i finish my build. Currently waiting for turbo adapter for the holset and a new oil pump. Finishing engine assembly. Hopefully 400hp weeked driven. My mods on my old motor were hks gasket, arp headstuds, mbc, downpipe no cats, blowoff valve, ported head,10 psi daily.

Mine's my DD. Although it just let me down yesterday.....a hose carrying coolant cracked while I was sitting at a light, tons of steam, coolant everywhere. At first I though 'Oh Shit, BHG!!!"

No mods tho. Its my only car, but when it has probs (a few times so far) I just borrow one of my parents cars so its not a big deal.
