Ok. I am Getting MASSIVE amounts of coolant in my oil. So much that my oil system is getting extra pressure from my coolant circuit.

So I need to thing of the possible Entry Points of coolant into the lubrication system.

-Head Gasket
-Turbo
-Cracked Block/Head
-?

Headgasket blown between the water jacket and cylinders is most common.

Is it pumping coolant out the overflow too?

My Build Thread

This is a freshly magnafluxed and rebuilt Block with:

-JE Pistons
- New Bearings (20 over i think)
-ARP Everything
-1.3 MHG
-All new seals & Gaskets
-Walbro 255
-AEM FPR
- AN Fuel lines -8 sending -6 return
- Shimmed new oil pump and new oil squirters
-PnP Head
- Comp Cams Valve Springs
- new valve guides
-3 angle valve job

I had the Head, Block and rear timing cover decked at a machine shop.

There was some question about the RA of the decking being adequate for the MHG so I remove it this long weekend (2 days ago at time of writing) and Replaced it with an OEM HG.

Would failing to apply this sealant correctly

cause coolant to push into the oil?

When the oil pressure spiked it blew this seal. This is what my oil looks like.

Maybe pressurize the cooling system with air and try to listen to where it seems to be comming from. Did you machine the timing cover with the block....?

If your head was machined down for the metal gasket I would not switch it out for an OEM one to keep your compression even. But if you have a blown frost plug your going to loose coolant everywhere. This is quite perticular, I would take it back to the shop that did the work and have them check it over sounds like their work was questionable. Turbo wouldn't push coolant into your oil but if it's blown it could blowing oil everywhere and in turn if you had a open frost plug it could mix then.

Rear Timing cover was machined. Pressurized the system today, wont hold any pressure.

No. Oil leak.

Freeze plug behind timing cover?

When I first assembled the block this was forgotten. I have since pulled the rear timing cover and installed it with black FIPG around the edges. Any chance it could have pushed itself out?

How did you install it? It needs to be put in place and the center peened in to expand the plug/

Do the following tests:
Coolant system pressure test
Compression test
Cylinder leakdown test

These should help you narrow it down. My money is still on the head gasket.

I saw a tech install a headgasket upside down once. It almost fit perfect and he just didn't notice. He was good at his job. It can happen to anybody. Almost everything lined up and it wasn't noticed. Until he started it and got to redo it for free.

^ Except around here we have people building engines who've never done it before with predictable results.

While I agree there are people doing things that can be avoided, I think it's important to realize one of the best ways to learn the right way is by feeling the pain of the wrong way. Nobody's an expert their first time around.
