My pay cheques go towards rent, loan payment, insurance, and gas for the truck. A 429 is far from cheap on gas :aigo:

Also I'm starting to put money away off my cheques to go towards the motor for my car.

Code for Japaneeeese whores!!!!!!!!:biglaugh:

It is a Tax defered savings account provided by your place of business. Basicly its your retirement fund that you can invest several different ways. I am investing mine in Lap Dances at this time..............................:icon_bigg

401k is retirement. You can pay tax now at known rates, or when you retire at what should be lower rates based on smaller distribution.

Social security is a US supplement that was started to create a dependent class of citizens. Many people just assume it will be there one day.

Aaaha. I suppose we have the same thing - although organised differently. We have National Insurance, which is 3% taken out of our monthly paychecks - that gives us a state pension at 65. Of course some companies also have another pension fund that gets paid into so you'd get your state pension AND your company pension at 65.

would rather pay a little on taxes now than a lot later

but hey, at least they match 100% of 5%...nothing like free money

Yeah, and don't rely on SS to be there when you retire, think of it as an added bonus.

A 401k is a pre-tax savings account for retirement and may not be touched (without taxes and penalties) until retirement age (sometimes you can touch it but only under certain circumstances). Usually your employer sets it up and will match a certain percentage of what you put in.

It's probably one of the best ways to save for retirement.

Our social security system is not a pension, and it never was. It is a pay as you go tax. Those recieving benifits are paid through a deduction called FICA, which is federal insurance also.

You don't actually have an account that you are putting money into. Although many socialist proffessors in college have lied through their teeth saying the system pays for itself. At that point, Nick M calls out the government proffessor and corrects him in front of the class to ensure proper embarassment of the lefty.

Does allowance count? First off, I basically get paid to go to school, i get stipends every quarter and i get my monthly allowance from my good ole dad.

Lets see,

Credit card bills-amounting to like 100$
Food-i get free food...but i like to eat out alot so thats like around another 100 dollars a month
My grilfriend, shes broke as shit, so i always got to buy her things, but i kind of enjoy it, makes me feel good inside -depends...
As of now i cant imagine paying a whole bunch of bills, but my time will come, i usually end up with like 600-1000 a month to spend, lately about half is going into the car but i slowed down, i just want to get her runnign again than im leaving her alone for a while so i can do other stuff for a while, come summer its supra time tho

I looked last month and payed almost $700 just to my motor.
