hey man the exact same thing happend to me to. i just got some brake line and put one of these on it, i cant think of the name of that kinda of fitting though sorry but it was real easy. but you have to use a pipe cutter so that you keep it round, and give yourself some str8 otherwise that fitting will not work. i have about 2000 miles on mine now and no leaks. those are high pressure so using a rubber hose will not work----i do have a nasty oil leak though

That's a compression fitting, and you are damn lucky it's holding at all. I've seen a compression fitting blow off multiple times, when used on power steering pressure lines. A double flare union is the only way to properly repair any pressure hydraulic lines on your vehicle. You are living on borrowed time.
