i will have to check that out!, im gonna pull the rack today and see about some brake line to do a temp fix on the rack, are the cars at the yard in a place where the rack is easy to get to? (ie the motor removed would make it super simple). i dont want to be a burden, but if it is close to you and simple to get to them would you get them? where is big lake exactly...im not familiar with that lake...mn has too many lakes

how do you know oil pressure is still good? You've started the engine with the pan hitting the crank?

If its the most front area and you have started the engine with it hitting the pan and it still runs fine then just pull the pan down with the dent puller and fix it as soon as you can and drive sparingly.

yes, i have, it isnt hitting that bad. sounds just like a rod knock though. didnt see the damage till after i started it(plastic undercover concieled the damage). you can only imagine the thoughts that entered my head after hearing it, new headgasket and all!

i plan to take the puller to the pan today, it will either pull it or pull a hole in it, but hey it is destroyed anyway.

Unless you have a double flare capable tool it's a waste of time trying to repair them as the PwrSteer circuit can spike to 1200psi.

i do.. i plan to completely replace the lines.

If you need a pan, pickup and the lines, lmk, I have all three and could get them shipped out by 7/3... $70 would take it all, including shipping... PM me if you need them!

sounds like i have a pan, i definatly need the lines, my repair will only be temp. on them, i prefer to have the factory lines on it. where is our oil pump on the 7m? i dont know if il need the pickup. here is a pict

is that anywhere near the pump or the pickup , it is hitting the crank right above the squashed line in the pict, you can see the pan flex when you turn the engine over by hand

1st of all stop turning the motor, you're just gonna fubar everything.

it doesnt look to be near the pickup, or pump in general. at the least i would pull the entire pan at the least and hammer it out from the inside. a puller isnt gonna work, the metal is too thick.

but you should really replace it.

turning the motor by hand will not hurt anything. the puller should pull this out enough to get it off of the crank, if it doesnt it wont really matter as i am going to put a new pan on anyway. if it is like most toyota pans it is only 16ga sheetmetal.

my main concern is that there is nothing but the crank under this dent, which it sounds like there is not. looking at the haynes manual. anybody have a pict of a 7m without the pan on it, but with everything else still on it?

i will definatly replace it at a later date, but it will work fine for now.... the power steering on the other hand will not. it does not work at all so it is armstrong for now. cant even substitute brake line as there are banjo bolts on the other end.
mkiiSupraMan18, what do you want for the lines?
