Okay so I finally got around to some mods. Only because i had problems.
my car sounded like a truck, and had no power. I found I had blown the turbo>manifold gasket. Incidentally the bolts had backed themselves off the stud, despite nissans attempt to keep this from ever happening with "tabs". The car was completely stock when I got it at 70K miles, and this happens. WTF. 1/4 of the gasket was MIA.
Getting the turbo back onto the manifold was a PITA. I thought that would be the last of my frustration, until I got to the oil/coolant banjo lines. They're made of thick, non-bendy steel unlike Toyota's OEM banjo lines.
5-6 hours later, I get those lines installed. LOL. All the studs from the 02 housing to the DP broke. I drilled for 2 hours to get through the cast iron turbo elbow. I decided to go ahead and install my E-cutout.
Everything went great and now all I have left to do is install my boost controller (Blitz SBC ID III).
I also received my Calum RT ECU. This is an ECU which has been "chipped" with a daughterboard. It has Emulation, and datalogging (externally). I'm really happy with it so far. A lot of people are using them for mild setups. It's very reliable, but not very "user friendly". In other words, I hope to learn a lot from it
