Hood Vent

Painted it today, first layer. Still have lots more sanding/painting to do. It fits perfectly in the cowl over the high pressure zone. I also plan to extend my custom undercover further back for even less lift and even more downforce.

Yes its carbon fiber.

I got the vent from ShineAuto. It's meant for an fc rx7 hood that he makes. I had to remove 9 and 1/2 inches from the vent so I could fit it in the cowl with the opening centered over the high pressure zone.

I already have a vent installed over the turbos

I don't drive the car in the rain

i think you mean to say LOW pressure zone.

No, the low pressure zone is at the base of the windshield. The high pressure zone is over the radiator.

Yes, that is why in cowl induction air would get sucked in at the base of the windshield, giving us the NASCAR effect and ramming all that air into our carburetors. Wait a minute...
I was plannin on picking up a vented hood to evacuate hot air, a Chaser aerodynamics FRP hood, it weighs 18lbs and has a vent identical to that! I would get that vent, but i want to replace the whole hood with something lighter

Base of your windshield is low pressure. Low pressure will suck in air.

Lots of people have their low/high pressures mixed up. An obvious giveaway is a shimmed hood on a supra

i was gonna say, it makes sense for it to be high pressure, because the way the air flows over the car, it puts pressure on the base of the windshield, and since under your hood is low pressure, high goes to low and air is shoved in their... ?

it's high pressure, this is why your vent works on your climate control...

pressure is measured on the outside surface of the hood/car. nose of car is high pressure. most of hood is low pressure. base of windshield is high pressure. airflow goes from relative high pressure (inside engine compartment) through the vent to low pressure (outside hood).

its not rocket science.
