This is too short but i will make another, its not hard!
I am also looking into some custom under braces using the same set up...

Things needed:
Large ball peen hammer
Drill
Grinder(optional)
Pipe bender(optional)- "i wedged pipe into a fence post hole in back yard and carefully bent accordingly"
Tape measure
marker
Pipe 1"
TEMS rings

Its the pipe from the electrical section, Some TEMS rings from the car/ Junk yard if not equipped (or double up for extra support...)
I bolted them to getter for trial mount but gettin them welded up tomorrow:naughty:!

You know, there are SOME things that shouldn't be DIY. I'm not knocking your work, it's very impressive. But when it comes to body dynamics, I just don't think I would trust something I pieced together myself.

Just my $.02. Don't mean to offend.

Is that piping strong? If you can bend it in a fence, chances are its not stiff enough to effect the chassis....

Nice job though

Oh it was a pain to bend but yea i think a stronger metal will be ideal!!!

YEah nice work. for those saying it won't work or the piping is weak...think for a moment. Something is better than nothing. If you painted it and finished those bars, and did not tell anyone it was made by you...it would be hard to tell. Good work .... inventions are always good. :)

It looks like that front one could be flexed in both hands. If it can be, -even a millimeter- think what you car is doing to it.

PS- I see you have a JZ engine conversion. I think you can afford the $30 Ebay item.

I come from a land down under
Justin: I'm the last person to knock someone for a "DIY" attitude to car parts as I make so much of my own gear but in this case they're doing NOTHING, well made strut bars are questionable at best but these don't tie anything to anything and will just flex at the single bolt hole holding them to the car.

yes Ian I understand and I as well hate to bash others for their diy inovations.
I'm sure he would have figured it out eventually that he would need to weld something around the tower connnecting to the bar like convential strut tower bars.

It is a good idea for a template to fabricate a real design from...but thats it.

That will never resist the torsion of the chassis.
Paint it and then go do some hard cornering with it, I bet the paint chips off from the flexing.
