I would like to know some more info on the hoset turbos such as the He351, Hy35, Hx30, Hx35, Hx40? Im gonna be uppgrading from my Ct26/60-1 to a holset set up and would like to know some info for this turbos? My rwhp goal is 450+ rwhp and would like to bolt on a hoset turbo that will hit hard and not fall till redline. Any info would be appreciated and will be used for future reference thanks.

Holset HY35 is the way to go. Smaller exhaust housing for faster spool. The HY35, HX35, and HX40 could all easily do your goal power level, not sure about the other two. I'll direct MDC to this thread, he can give you more detailed information.

The he351Cw is the turbo you're really hunting after. It has an updated compressor wheel, and updated turbine housing which flows better than the hy35.

The HX35 or HX40 have fairly large exhaust housings and are older technology than the HE351CW.

None of these turbos will be "bolt on" though.

All of them will need external fuel, exhaust manifold, oil system setup, down pipe setup, intake pipe setup, etc etc etc.

FYI, the hy35 / he351cw makes about 60lbs / min worth of air with only a 55mm compressor wheel. ;-)

That will put you well into the 450 hp range....

I am putting together a Holset HX35 setup on my dsm. I am using a BEP t-3 housing in the place or the Holset housing. To get rid of the internal gate, and wanted the larger .70ar t3 housing vs. the BEP .55ar mitsu housing. It seems that alot of the dsm guys really like the holset turbo's.

BEP also make exhaust housing with a toyota inlet which let you bolt-on a garret chra p-trim or a mitsu tdo5h. I was thinking of running a Holset turbo on the supra and was going to see if 935 Motorsports would get them to make a toyota bolt-on housing using the Holset chra since 935 sells BEP exhuast housing. I think it would be cool to have the option of running a bolt-on holset turbo like the dsm guys do. I also think it would be a popular upgrade since the Holset turbos could be had so cheap vs. other bolt-on turbo's. They have also been proven to work really well on other platforms. But I have since changed the plans on that to run a t4 sp59gt on the supra and the holset on the dsm.

The T3 housing I am using on my dsm. If you plan on running and external and a T3 housing. You would just need a t3 manifold. (which I have one for sale, shameless plug lol)
