See if the whistle insert is melted if so dimantle your bov and check the small plastic 1 way valve inside the diafram housing. If heat is an issue or it is mounted above your turbo your hks bov is dead. V.2 & V.3 don't like heat.

the little thing that is in the center? yea its looks like chrome chipping off... & that was exactly my thoughts.. the heat... what could i do? its like the Driftmotion kit type of BOV.

sprayed some WD40.. helped a bit at first but still no bueno. Would an authenic BOV take the heat?

& i forgot to mention THERE IS FLUTTER. when it was new there was no flutter.

That is the check valve for the bov. The same problem happened to my hks bov but my check valve only came dislodged. I was able to put it back in though. I just looked on HKS' site and I don't think they sell the valve seperately. May have to get another bov if that piece is cracked

Gone through 2 with heat shields to much heat soak after extended driving 1 way valve made of a plastic cap, rubber flapper, and an aluminum base. whistle is plastic plated with chrome it melts and distorts. My first V.2 was an eBay second V.3 was from an hks dealer both had the same failure. Found a V.1 and I'm relocating it.

Or put the heat shields back on.

The only heat shield missing is the one infront of the exhaust manifold. The car didn't have it when i got it.

& i been thinking about getting one from driftmotion. i mean they sell the 7MGTE intercooler kit & thats the same location of my BOV. So that BOV must resist heat. & Ill also be buying heat shield wrap for the pipes & maybe wrap the turbo with some?

Heat soak happens when the car is parked wrap will do nothing for it. Happens over time about 6-7 months daily driving in Indiana. Allmost every time during summer or just after. Ceramicoat down pipe, exhaust side of turbo, and manifold will help under hood temps but still melts plastic internals over time with heat soak. I have made custom metal internals and the rubber flapper deforms over time. Relocation is the best solution in my opinion but it's just an opinion. It all depends on environment, operating conditions, equipment, and money.
