whew, glad this is over! Now heed the words; prepare both surfaces correctly, use arp bolts with the recommended lube, make sure to torque at 75 or above and anytime you mod make sure that you are not detonating in the process....... have fun!
no, no, no not at all, forgive me if that was the impression I gave, I'm probably guilty of not reading the thred closely. It's just that so many people do just the head and neglect the block (or blow it with a bad tune) and wonder why their gasket fails right away
havent bought anything yet... still debating. grim your the reason i wanna go HKS over the cometic... i care more about real life experiecne than what other cars use a head gasket..
each car and gasket are different. a honda head gasket is nothing like a supra gasket... im debating in my head right now if i go 2mm cometic, 2mm hks or 3mm hks...
I've overheated and blown hoses off 3 times, cracked spark plug porcelain twice but no BHG with Cometic. Y'know theres always different circumstances. I also havent heard of any of the other cars I know running Cometics blowing them. Then again I havent heard of anyone blowing an HKS gasket either. I used to have a stopper type on my old engine that threw a rod but that engine was never beat on like my current one, lol
