I was wondering the same thing. Is there no possibility of only boosting 1 bar?

what i would do at this point is do a full reinitialization of the unit, then go back and set everything up again in the configuration.
then, set the boost at 1bar, duty at something real low like 10% and see what happens. dont forget there is a record and playback feature on the avcr. its handy to use to see how the boost comes on and if it is overshooting.

seriously tho, if something was goofy in the setup or hookup, it could be off from really being "off" on the controller.
best bet honestly would be to get an inline barb and bypass the controller all together and see how it behaves.
hmm, now that im looking back, i see it was boosting high before even the install. i missed that part in the middle. did you get just the exhaust or the dp too?
not even a magic boost controller can lower your boost from the wastegate base boost level. id bypass the controller w/ the barb like i was talking about just to eliminate that part of the equation. then make sure your actuator isnt binding/bent/etc.
dbsupra90 said:i no longer have this boost controller on my car, its on a friend's and he is out of town til later this week. it is currently setup for an external wastegate, but i can go back thru and do a step by step setup when he gets back if it will help. i have just been going by memory the issues ive had or helped with on the avc-r. it is a really nice boost controller, but it is kinda complicated and takes a while to get used to.

edit: i have heard of people having boost issues w/ the ddp if the wg flap hits the elbow. it wont open far enough to allow exhaust gas out fast enough and causes high boost.
do you have any type of wideband in the car? if so, you can always just leave it at the boost level you have it and tune around fuel cut. i could run 20psi on my lex/afc combo, even in cold weather.

Un hook the Vacc pipe from the gate and replace it as stock and verify that it's hitting the same boost on just the gate no controller plumbed at all.
IJ. said:Is it preloaded at all?
(just trying to rule out everything I can think of here but am starting to suspect bad boost creep)

No problem at all.....suprajosh said:oh god... mine does the same thing, now i need to port that bad boy too???
