In Australia, we have Rodney Anderson running 8.385 et at 170.73 mph. This is in a 2900 pound car with driver. Power glide transmission gtx45 turbo with methanol fuel. Sixty foot time of 1.416. This is a big heavy non aerodynamic street car running 28x10 slicks on the rear.

Derek Johnson has gone 8.42et at 164 mph, 2800 pound car with driver. Turbo400 trans, sixty foot time of 1.3. Both these cars are tuned by EFI performance in Brisbane Australia. There are several videos on YouTube for any doubters and they are both 1jzgte cast iron blocks with factory 1jz heads with extensive porting.

Punch 170 mph and 2900 pounds into a hp calculator and that's close to 1200 hp

Someone in BC, Canada imported a fresh 1JZGTE, installed a big single and NOS kit, fed it a 150 shot & 38PSI and net 906WHP with a un-open engine. Cams? :dunno: Not sure if this one was covered yet but here it is.

See I have also been wondering this as I'm building a 1j currently and will be shooting for over 1000 on a 2.5 bottom end. I can not find one record of a 1j without a 2j block making over 1000. I understand it's more difficult but to think no one has done it? Seems odd
