Sorry to hijack this thread a little, but what does it mean if you block only the isc and the car dies?

Blocking the ISCV only will cause it to die, but not immediately. Blocking both should cut off all air to the plenum. If it doesn't die immediately, but stumbles with an RPM drop, then dies...it's likely the PCV orifice in the TB is clogged. The TB orifice needs to be cleaned periodically.

This assumes there are no air/vac leaks and the TB plate is closed at the idle position.

Didn't realize you were running SD. Block the ISCV and PCV fittings off at the respective fittings. Then block off the other fittings on the intake manifold...brake booster and big vac fitting on the front feeding the "tree" on the bottom. See what happens.

You removed the EGR correct? Is the EGR fitting on the plenum sealed off with a gasket under the block-off plate?

A long shot...did you check the intake manifold flanges (upper & lower) for straightness? Could be warped.

Just tryed blocking off all possible fittings on the intake manifold and still nothing happens.

The EGR was removed, I replaced the gasket underneath it two days ago with all the other gaskets.

I didnt check the straightness on the intake manifolds though. I might pull of the intake mani again tonight. Meanwhile Im trying to track down a smoke leak tester, to find exactly were the air is coming in.

That is THE WAY to find a pirate air leak. ;)
I would use that before you yank the manifold again.

Can you hear your ISCV step open when you shut the motor down?

Might want to check the MAFT programming to be sure it's not screwing with one of your ECU inputs and that it's reading the sensors correctly.

Can you take a pic of the top of your TB? I want to confirm you don't have one of the early versions with the air bypass screw.

Yah im trying to locate one, if not im going to attempt to build one. No one I know has one.

Yah i hear the ISCV step once I turn the car off.

I checked the maft pro last night and its all set exactly where it should be.

Ill take a picture of my tb once I get home from school.

Is it possible to leak air from the injectors grommets on the head? I installed new rc 550s earlier this weekend and noticed when i installed them with new injectors the injectors were a bit loose. Is it possible that air leaks out the sides?

Yes...that is also a possibility. Did you use a new set of grommets/o-rings (3 pieces per injector)?
The injectors should rotate smoothly when installed with the fuel rail torqued down.

What are you using to control fuel...the MAFT? Is there a provision in it for selecting 550cc injectors? Do you have an AFPR and what is your FP psi?

Yah I used a new grommet/oring set that I got from NAPA. The rotate smoothly, im just trying to narrow things down.

Fuel system:
Walbro
550s
AFPR
J-tube bypassed
Maft Pro w/speed density
Fuel Pressure - 35psi w/ hose disconnected.stock

Maft pro has no set provision for 550s, you have to adjust the mainscale to get were you need to.

Might be something you want to look at.

That's a later model TB...no bypass screw, so that one's out.
What are you using to supply vac to the BVSV on the thermostat housing? Or, have you deleted the charcoal canister too?

See if you can get your hands on a smoke machine to rule out any other vac/air leaks.

The bvsv and charcoal canister have been taken out a long time ago as well.

Still trying to find a smoke machine, no one has one sadly. Do you know of any step by step instructions on how to make one?

I did the voltage test on the isc and i believe its dead. After applying voltage to the terminals like the tsrm said and nothing happened. So Im going to get another isc tomorrow.

Any idea if the 7mge and 7mgte isc are the same?

The same thing happened to my buudy's car and mine... You isc is stuck in the open position. Like i said.. pinch your ISC hose and your idle will go down and be steady. If you put a hose clamp around it or a valve in the hose so you can adjust your idle manually until you get your new ISC valve. Your car will be driveable just don't romp on it too much or you will stall. In your video it looked like it wasn't hooked up. Your ISC valve is a big part of your engines main idle control. :icon_mad::nono:

sounds like a TB gasket leak to me. It just shoots straight up right? Honda's are notorious for doing it.

alright guys, still having problems. i replaced the entire manifold with a different isc, and tps. I replaced the csi and fpd with new ss lines. and still have the same problems. still no codes, all gaskets have been replaced.

I bought injectors off someone on the board, is it possible they are clogged?
