Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

I took a day and used Castrol Super Clean (purple bottle) and an assortment of small brushes. Lots of scrubbing and it came out great. Just takes time.

Go-Jo :aigo:

As odd as it sounds, yea, it works amazingly.

Figure, if it will take all that crap off your hands when you're done working on your car, it'll clean up your car.

Just make sure you dilute it down to the point where it's not a sludgy slime and it flows like water.

I thought the same thing at first, so I put some on a rag and started going at my firewall (my car's read, the wall was black from dirt) and now its actually red with no sign of dirt or sludge.

now i used it in pure concentrate and after cleaning an area id quickly hit it with a spray bottle filled with water and wipe it dry...it didnt hurt any paint or aluminum aslong as you didnt let it sit and soak...

Ugh at people using super clean/purple power. It eats paint and if allowed to dry on a surface is nearly impossible to remove and will stain.

I'm not talking out of my ass, I've learned from experience...

it stinks when people talk out of their asses lol

Purple power has acids in it. We can’t use it one aircraft because if it gets between seems it will cause corrosion. I saw real nasty results from it from people who used it. Thanks to purple power it made me big bucks on sheet metal work. It will also attack steel between seems. Also I.E. intercooler piping will look like shit if you get the straight concentrate on it. It will turn a dull white following by corrosion.

Simple green used to be used by the military on aircraft but they stopped because they found it causes corrosion. I used simple green diluted its safe. They also made another simple green aircraft formula none corrosive.

I used Jet A as a degreaser just because its free but better then diesel or kerosene because its cleaner.

Yep, what I've been saying. Super Clean/Purple Power can NOT dry on a surface, it has to be fully washed away and it takes TONS of water to fully get rid of it.

It's only advantage to many degreasers is that it doesn't harm most plastics. (but will remove paint from plastics, so it has it's uses).

Engine bay after using diluted Go-Jo (the green slimey stuff , not the white pumice filled stuff)
Don't mind the coil pack harness, the coils are out along with the plugs for winter storage purposes.

The before pic is on the right. The left pic was taken about 3 hours ago.
