heater lights go out when i hit the brakes

topic says it all. the heater control lights go off when i hit the brakes, even lightly. as soon as the taillight turn on the dash goes dark. replaced the unit with my spare and same issuse. the heater controls still work, they just

nothing looks out of place at the wiring side of things, atleast not under the dash. no bare wires, nothing been tapped into. car did have a alarm that is still half wired into the car.

so my question is what gives?? the dash lights are also immune to this, they dont turn off, just the heater controls.

check your tail light failiure sensor near the driver side tail light housing in the back its a yellow box and they go bad in wierd ways//// theres instructions on how to hard wire and bypass the stupid thing

Try this first check the wires on your taillights. Clean them with sandpaper and make sure its tight. That is what caused my issue

ok il try this when it dry out and can open the hatch. the fail thingy might be the issue, since i have the dreaded leaky hatch.
