Holy hell.

Admin/mod, just go ahead and lock this thread. This thread took a downhill plung too quickly. Going to have to ignore some members now dueto what I perceive as ignorance. Maybe I should go back to lurking =/

locking this thread a bit irrational, isn't it? Opinions are like assholes, everybody got one.

Well before they do I just want to say thank you for sharing. I enjoy seeing nice MKII's regardless of their price tag. Some "people" just don't get it nor do they appreciate it.

OK, fine, say it's not worth the coin...

Go show me a car in THAT shape, and then add on the cost of a refreshed 7M and the full swap.

Until then, STFU and stop pissing on someone's hard work. If you're not buying it, someone else will.

Now that said, the MKII does have a couple issues that I'm aware of, it's difficult to get the suspension sorted (coilovers, ect), and it rusts a whole lot easier...

Finding one without rust these days is rare, or I'd own one myself...

ok so go cheap and say bone stock clean mk2 for $4k. then a wrecked 7mgte donor car for $1k with good running 7mgte. factor in mhg, arp head studs, custom i/c piping and dp, exhaust etc.. which now can be bought from rabidchimp prefabbed, still not cheap. do the wiring yourself, which will take a long time due to the auto. then your still paying more then what this car is selling for and youd have a bone stock 7m with i/c pipes and exhaust. and have to do all the labor yourself which sounds easy enough but it isnt as easy as it seems for everyone. trust me. for me it was easy, ive seen others spend months and then pay someone to finish it cause they just couldnt.

and as for the mk3 being a real mk1 supra, how the hell do you figure? even toyots is screwy as they sold the 97 model as the 15th year aniversary instead of the the 94 model. so even by toyotas wierd standars the real mk1 isnt the mk3.

It's still an A body.

A MKII is more of a Supra than a bloated MKIII any day. It's lighter, more comfortable, and handles better. And with a 7M-GTE, it's faster too.

having the option of being able to buy all 4 generations, the level of comfort in the mk2 was far less then the mk3 and mk4.
And even if it is an A body, it still be a celica in technicality.

So much hostility. I like my MK3 more than a Mk2 though i wouldnt mind owning a MK2 and ill probably get flamed for this one, but when i look at the history of these cars IN MY OPINION once again IN MY OPINION the MK3 Supra was the only "REAL" Supra IN MY OPINION (Meaning its just me you dont have to agree), with its high tech features (IMO) and racing heritage. I think the MK4 was just an atempt to climb to the top and tango with the big boys. But IMO i think the MK3 was Toyotas best attempt to create a Sports car unlike any other.

Ill go run and hide now.

i disagree. ive had 4 mk3's and my mk2's are more comfortable and feel more responsive then the mk3's. had 2 n/a's and 2 turbo's and driven many more. ive driven mk4's as well. fast, yes, comfortable, not to me. feels too clustered in the drivers seat in the mk4.

I said gadgets not super awesome things... lol

center console light, corded light on the hood (which I've never had to use, COULD have used in a mkIII :icon_bigg ), Those SWEET blow up lumbar supports (i know mkIII's are elec), heated mirrors, That's all I can think of. mkIII's may have them, or may have upgraded, but at damn near 10 years afterwards.

I know it's a Supra thing across the board, but power everything is awesome. My parents have mid-90's Domestic vehicles and all have crank windows and std locks.

If mkII's are considered Celicas, thats fine by me, I don't need my car to be labeled as a certain thing for me to keep on loving it and dumping money into it...

I just want to know if the pre-89 and 89+ are considered two different things.

The whole mkWTFE arguement is stupid. mkIII ppl trying to mkIV the mkII crowd. I hope that comes across like I want it to, nothing against the mkIV guys I've met.

How is having MY OWN thread locked irrational? It's obviously causing a big pissing match, and I'm tired of it. I am starting to dislike members now who I previously didn't have a problem with until now, and would be happy if this could be locked and forgotten about.

Nothing irrational about wanting to keep the peace.
