Well, I kinda' agree with 400whp, being fairly easy with the 7M, but for a 1JZ, it's a little more challenging. I vote that is be different requirements, for the different motors. 1JZ's, would be 400whp...7M's would be 500whp...and lastly, 2J's would be 600whp. I think that is a little more realistic. If it's just 500, and greater, you're going to exclude alot of kickass 1JZ's, and some pretty badass 7M's too! Anything above 400whp, on pump gas, is bad-ass, in my book!

No more criteria discussion per Duane. I wouldn't push it as we've had some spirited debates over the last couple of pages, and I think he was trying to stop it from continuing. The bar is 500whp, which I think is great because all engines, 1JZ, 2JZ, and 7M, all will require fuel system work and turbo upgrades to make that power. 1JZ's can make 500hp almost as easily as the 2JZ, and unlike the 7M, doesn't need torn down for a MHG and possibly forged bits, so I don't think they need special treatment. ;)

That's not true and you know it. Just because you keep revving doesn't mean you'll keep making power.

granted, but as long as you don't runn out of air/fuel you're fine...

personally, I'm building my car for decent power (BPU form ATM), but will be shooting for a 400hp DD eventually...

500 is great and all, but at that level if something goes wrong it's just too expensive for me...

I kinda agree with the double HP requirement, as the 2J has such a headstart on the rest of them...

I beg to differ, a 1jz will make well over 400whp with only a single turbo, fuel injectors, and an exhaust system.

So high hp cars are built poorly and don't last? Jesus Im in trouble then...

*whispers*500hp.......

BTW: how hard is it to make 400rwhp? I dunno, but I made 512rwhp @23psi with a 60mm mystery turbo, stock exhaust mani w/ a T4 adapter, stock intake and tb, cracked head, stock internals, 3" exhaust, bosche external pump, 550cc rc's, and an hks vpc... It was tough... ;)

Duane,

I noticed you were asking for help. I don't have too much free time, but may be able to help. Below is a link to my unfinished site. Sorry I missed this for so long. On another note, I agree with the 500 mark, but it should also have some cosmetic requirements as well. I don't think it would look nice if the car is making 500 RWHP but the car is falling apart and each body panel is primered with a different color. :D

Personally, I don't think it's any fault of the platform that we don't see more 500+ rwhp Supras.

I think it's a direct result of 2 things -

1) Kids tend to get these cars. Very few kids actually know what's going on, and how to even maintain the car - let alone make 2x or 3x the stock power output!

2) Cheap sumabitches. Seriously. I see people complain all the time about how much these cars cost. I don't make a ton of money (broke ass college student here) but I know how to save up money for a couple months, to get that next part that I want. You won't find me out drunk on the weekends, or partying - I'm working, I'm going to school, and I'm saving up for the next set of parts I want for the Supra.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with a stock rebuild - only that people tend to seriously cheap out, and then try to push the stock CT26 WAY past its limits. You gotta pay to play, that's all there is to it ;)

For a lot of our guys a 300rwhp 7M isn't easy let alone 4>500.

Classes would be nice but add a HUGE work load for the Site admins to deal with.

This was my idea too actually IJ. It really wouldnt be all that hard as I had created a common template for the whole site and just needed to modify it each time we had a new member at a particular level.

I just find it rather silly that a ratted out 500rwhp car will have a website but those sweet rides putting out 250rwhp don't. I have to agree with those that have said it before. Sounds like some dick measuring contest to me.

If the site were built correctly you could showcase ALL GTEPower-ed vehicles and let the visitor decide what they want to see. Let little Timmy avoid getting all Butt-Hurt by selecting only those cars that he wants to see. Give him a nice little drop down selector to choose only those cars that have >500rwhp.

Impl a rating system (not entirely unlike the one over on CarDomain). That way people can rate the other cars. Then Jimmy can view only those cars with a >3 rating and more than 400rwhp.

What am I saying? It has already been over a year already and this site isn't running yet. Come on Duane. It's not like you're even making CF stuff any more. DANG! Slacker. ;)

Keith - just stirring the pot a little.

500whp sounds good to me. I know there are a lot of bad ass supras out there that are 400 but ever since ive been in the supra scene, i've always thought of 500 being the first great achievment. I also agree that turbo/fuel work has to be done so it takes a little more to be in that club. I vote for 500 and if anything it gives the community more of a reason to upgrade. And if you're featured, do you get anything besides a spot on the site? Like maybe a small decal or t-shirt?

I could have said that LIlMiss, but then you'd want me to prove it, and Vonda would get jealous, then I'd be forced to keep two women satisfied all the time............on second thought.

You obviously didn't read the entire thread :3d_frown: This site will have criteria and one will clearly show that "ratted out" cars will not be allowed ;)

This is a final decision on 500RWHP but thanks for the advice.

Not a bad idea and will that in mind but add another 100RWHP on top.

It has been a year and I have a life, house to take care of and most importantly a family. Oh and the Supra. CF is on the back burner.

I have my decisions on what I want and I have someone that may help so in conclusion, thanks for the posts/suggestions/ideas. :)

No more stirring up the pot as I have enough of that already so BACK OFF PUNK! :D

Right there with ya! It's not just with MKIII's, it's with other cars and owners too. They complain that they don't have the money to do it right, but they're always eating out, partying, and spending money on alcohol. My car is where it is because I save my money and spend wisely so that I can afford that next part. :)

For my car, that's an FMIC and some mandrel bends. I'll make the 500whp mark soon enough. ;)

Ok, I really do not understand why people are arguing this!

It's 500rwhp+, final, no more discussion necessary

If you don't like the terms, stay away from the site, or make your own!

Duane, if you need a hand, I'm ok at photoshop, not too great at making flashy graphics though. But I am pretty good at webdesign, especially if you have an idea for a layout in mind i could whip up some pages real quick!

LMK if you could use the help :)
