while filling my car up at the gas station last night these 4 guys in there twenties pulled up in a brand new harley davidson edition f-350 that was lifted... and I noticed them checking out my supra, and heard a muffled: wow, what type of car is that...... old corvette.. ferra..... oh wow! it's a toyota!... then the guy got out of his truck while his buddy went to buy smokes in the 7-11.. and he actually came up to me and started asking me if it was a supra and about what year it was and commenting on how clean it was and was shocked that it was an 88... haha

oh and earlier that day I was driving around and some old guy in a really clean white pre 89 was turning left towards me in the intersection and the guy must have been at least 60 and we exchanged waves... great to see even the older guys appreciate the car, and fellow owners... I have not run into a single rude supra owner locally, well this one guy who drives a mint black 92 supra that i've seen a couple times wont even look at my car when we drive past eachother, seems like he's kind of stuck up about it, but I have never talked to him, could be the nicest guy in the world...

(wow that was longer than it should have been!)

Ive meet a few MKIIIs and to me there either really cocky or really cool and willing to help out with your project. Most of them are the cool though in the orlando area.

That being said, if someone asked me about my car, I'd either stop and talk for awhile, or let the person know that I'm busy, and would like to stop and chat, but need to get my shopping done. (Etc.)
My point exactly.

Most of the MKIII guys I've met around here have been cool. A few dishonest people but overall great guys. Even a lot of the MKIV guys aren't bad I give them a lot of shit but some of them are pretty cool.
Some of the best times are when you're driving with the windows down and you hear, "Hey, nice car!" you look over and it's another MKIII owner.
I love this car.

I spotted a pretty clean red 91 or 92 turbo in a parking lot and left a little note on the windshield with directions to this site. He jumped on a few days later and started PMing me, he is a cool old dude (like 55) but I don't think he comes on anymore

We have a guy like that around here. He drives a very clean, tottally unmolested Black pre 89 N/A. I always see him in his business attire with tie. You know the type......."missionary style only, all that other stuff is nasty". He seems like he is driving it, because for whatever reason, he can't afford a new car. I respect that. I wave every time I see him, but nothing. Lately he gives me a nod, or maybe a couple fingers come up, as if he wants to wave, but doesn't feel comfortable driving it. I hope to one day catch him, and chat a little. Maybe I'm dead wrong about him.

I see a few different NA's every time I cruise in madison. we'll give each other the "nod," and I generally boost it a little and go on my way. Sometimes they will ask me to pull over and talk, which I gladly do.

I get asked to pull over more often by the Sti & evo guys and the Madison Muscle Mustang Club guys though... They seem baffled that an old school supra with basic mods and an auto can be so fast :D

I've met probably 25 mk3 guys and 10 mk4 guys from the forums.

Gotta remember, only the hard core are on forums. To everyone else it's a just an old car. I'm nice to people who approach me (98% of whom are under 30) but I have to admit, there are times when I think the screaming, honking, and waving among them need to get a life. It's just a car. On the other hand when I'm in the Delorean I don't even respond to other owners. There be some seriously weird folks in that community. Thank God I don't run into them often.

Wow, you have a De Lorean?? Damn, what other cars do you have? Any pics? :biglaugh:
