TODAY

got christmas out the way so time to get cracking again.

due to the modications i will be doing to the coolant system and the size of my intercooler pipe work it was necessary for me to cut of part of the lower engine case where the inlet from the bottom rad entrance is .
also manged to get the alternator on thanks ron for the bracket ;).
and finaly managed to weld the exhaust flange in the correct place so that the turbo dosent hit the bonnet and so that it also lines up the the intercooler pipe work.
i think you will see that with all the braces on the pipework i am hopin that intercooler pipes blowing of are going to be a thing of the past
so i am now at the point of being able to start the manifold runners now so that once that is completed i rip out the engine and start the fun part.

Looks good! :bigthumb: But is there no room to route the pipe from the turbo down instead of going back up like that? Or that's how you want it?
--Ron

ron reason went with that route is as follows

a: if iwent down was going to be complicated getting it past pas rack and pipes

b: i would have to go underneath the car and risk catching the pipes on anything in the road (done this before and got pissed putting pipes on at the side of the road)

c: keeps it lookin a bit more stealth like from the outside so you can't see any of the pipes ;)

the following episode could not have been done without a little tool i picked up yesterday as after making the induction system the hard way ie angle grinder and hacksaw i decided to invest in something a little more substantial
A METAL CHOPSAW WITH 14" BLADE :)
has all the adjustable angles and stuff so now makes fabrication a dream .
As a result i now have my 4" downpipe fabricated and tacked up (with my shit welding) ready for my mate mark at marine fabrications to weld up (properley lol)
next weeks job will be fabricating the header :(
