ground off ridges on valve covers

was bored again today and started polishing the valve covers, i was having some issues getting everything out from between the three little ridges that were on top of it, so i took a grinder to them and removed the issue completely. i think the smoother appearence looks better now,

same as before, i used a bench grinder and took the ridges down to about 1/16, then used some 60grit on an orbital to shave them down the rest of the way so i didn't gouge the metal around the ridges

Wow I thought you meant shaving the edges around it, they look amazing! Might have to do that myself.

If the ridges are gone as in your pick the tops of the Covers have to be thinner by the depth of the grooves?

the depth of the grooves is level with the rest of the valve cover. so when you shave off the ridges, everything is level

heres a pic of mine. i smoothed the grooves, welded the holes for the studs (coil conversion, no need for them) and powdercoated them gunmetal...

Enraged: Is it just me or did you remove the nipples for the PCV? They look excellent, but what will you do about the PCV system?
