grimjack changing your wires on the engine loom was a great decision in my opinion well done for being sesible and spending time on the important issues that get overlooked

dirgle is correct - though I found some issues with my knock sensor wiring, so I pulled off the plugs, fixed that up, covered it in heat shrink tubing, and put the plugs back on.
At the very least, it lets you put in some time inspecting the harness, so you'll know where faults may be and how hard they will be to replace later.
When I did mine the entire harness was covered in electrical tape, which was a pain to remove all of it, clean the sticky gunk off it, and then rewrap it. I was wondering if you removed and replaced the tape or just stuck the wires back in to the new loom?
Another relatively long night assembling the engine... with some NICE results. It is ready to go into the car, and hopefully this will happen tomorrow morning. A few things to hook up, a few things to bolt up, and I'm done.
Ok, now I am stinking tired. The car is close to running, but not quite. I still have to:
- mount the radiator
- mount and connect the fans
- run the rad hoses
- connect the heater hoses to the block
- connect the speedo cable to the tranny
- fix the clutch slave
- pull the wiring harness through the firewall
- hook up the ECU
- put the glovebox back together
- finish the shifter installation
- put the dash back together
- fill the engine with oil and coolant
- install the upper IC pipe
I'm tired enough that I started making silly mistakes, so it's time to call it quits for the day. Shouldn't take all that too long to get it up and running tomorrow, however.
And last but not least, a few pictures showing how far it's come from there today. This is what she looks like in the driveway right now - except that the hood is closed, of course. I'm done for the night, I'll likely finish up tomorrow.
PS: Anyone care to sell me a spare set of skin for my fingers? I think mine is done for.
Doh! Stalled for the moment. Seems my water pump didn't survive the pressure in the cooling system induced by the BHG. It was almost all together - everything but the upper IC pipe and the accordian hose, and I decided to put coolant in... well, the water pump leaks, rather badly, out of the holes top and bottom.
Weak! on the other hand... your writeup has convinced me to start working on my supra again.. workin on gettin the interior back togather today! Thanks!
