awesome, i have seen that actually. nice to see its coming along.

do you have pics of the car before all this? it looks to me like you have the classic toyota stripes on the car...or something. are those stock, or added, or.... i dunno. i've seen that color combo and striping on toyotas before... i think it might have been their 80's racing decal design?

I quite like the vertical doors on vehicles with long ass doors, such as the mk3 supra. Can't wait to see some pics!

However, I have one giant thing to bitch about:

THEYRE NOT LAMBO DOORS, THEY'RE "SCISSOR" DOORS!! Basic door terminology:
veritcal doors as found on lambos: scissor doors
doors found on cars such as enzo, f1: butterfly doors
doors hinged on the rear: suicide doors
koenigsegg doors: hydro something something syncro something actuated. (<-- technical term)
doors found on aston db9: swan doors

edit: Just watched the video... You still have to pull the door in (towards the center of the car) once its lowered? Thats silly, I want one where its one fluid motion to get them vertical.

Unfortunately, that's how all of the aftermarket assemblies I've seen work. For it to function differently you'd probably need to build a different kind of latching system for the door.

I'm still thinking that one of these days I might just get a set of these... I only want them from a functional point of view. I'd still prefer to go with sliding doors, but that's going to require a lot of work.

Damn! These hinges won't work on this car. There is just not enough room between the fender and the body of the car. It might be possible with some extreme mods to the structure of the unibody beside the upper door hinge, but the inner part of the door's weatherstripping would still not clear the a pillar.

Anyone know what kit these guys used on their Mk3's?? This has been done before, so someone's gotta know the details.

Could you show us some pics of where it actually goes wrong ? I doubt there are much different kits for our supra's to be honest.

I don't think I've ever seen a kit in on anything but Japanese MKIII's. You might try contacting someone here: http://www.onthebeat.jp/ or this guy: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ma70supra_tatu/24309805.html Ask if they know if anyone's got pictures of how those are mounted or if they can at least get you a picture of the hardware those guys are using.

I wouldn't be surprised if those installs are either fully custom or if they've just got more hardware to choose from over there.
