Alot of the cost was eaten up by getting one for only $115.

I'd consider using one too if I could get the transmission for $115.

They normally sell for 2k-3k.

Yes you are very right, They came in TURBO A supras, & there is only 11 of those diffs out there, Now you should replicate the ring & pinion & sell to the supra community, I knnow you have one, Right???

i was asking about the MKIV diff cause i can pick them up a dime a dozen over here in japan where i am at, and besides, picking an extran tranny for 115 bucks is a good price by anyones standereds

but since i am here in japan, picking up all these great little parts i would need to swap it in is a little easyer, but ive seen alot of JZX90's, 100's and 110's around alot who all use MKIII, and MKIV parts.

and just to get it out there, im going for ~500RWHP, i got a set of twin GT28RS turbo's and am ordering the manifolds this weeks, i already got a load of JDM parts from out in town, just waiting on picking up an extra head for my PnP, and full rebuild and all, so putting a 6spd is worth it in my mind, so cost isnt anything im really worried about, its just trying to put all the right parts together the first time, so i dont have to keep getting all parts that dont do me any good, cause please remember, i work for the US goverment (US MARINE CORP)..

Do you mean the Group A Supra?

There were 100's of Turbo A's built.

An R154 would do fine for 500rwhp, but if you picked a V160 up that cheap I'd use it too. I don't see why you couldn't use an MkIV rear end, but I don't know for sure.

Mk4 rear is NOTHING like a Mk3 one Quin.

I know, I meant adapt one to use it. Although it seems like it'd be a lot more worthwhile to put a 9" in if you're going to swap at all.

I don't think they make 4runner rears that tall. most of the time, they make them SHORTER, for bigger tires.

That's interesting that there is a 3.2 MKIII rear-end though.

I still think that a 3.54 ring and pinion for $200 from jawsgear is the best option. It's close enough to work pretty decent.

Wait, which MK3 model came with a 3.2?

Why would you want a 3.2 with an R154?

The GROUP A Supra. Andre has the 3.22 on him MKIII, He has even posted pics of it.

See My pics from the Mk3 diff

You can go lower then 3.2

3.07 gears are in the 2wd 4 speed trucks from 84-90 or so

The gear code is G662 and they WILL work in the Supra housing

4X2vinplate-447x271.jpg

Non Supra gears that do fit the mk3 pumpkin:

3.071 = 43/14 = 4 runner
3.416 = 41/12 = 4 runner
3.583 = 43/12 = 4 runner
3.727 = 41/11 = 4 runner
3.900 = 39/10 = Hilux
4.100 = 41/10 = Hilux / 4 runner
4.300 = 43/10 = Hilux / 4 runner
4.556 = 41/09 = Hilux / 4runner
4.875 = 39/08 = Hilux
