So how come you haven't started it. You don't need IC piping on to start it. It's not a 7m ;)

For some reason i get no power at the fuel pump unless i run direct 12v to it with a battery. even if i jump FP and B+ nothing happens

Need to finish some vac lines and one hose from the coolant port on the Throttle body.

Then i need to bleed the clutch.

How in the world do you check timing on this engine ? What do i use instead of the number one spark plug wire?

Just make sure your at 0 on the crank, and 0 on both cams.

On startup the ecu syncs and sets timing electronically.

About the 12+ for the pump. Check the B1 connector. Either put the fuel pump relay(passenger side fender) in. Or do what everybody does and rewire the fuel pump wire on the b1 to a 12v ignition switch. Bypass the oem relay alltogether

The timing thing was more for the new AEM ecu it has a base tune on it but i don't want to run it without checking the timing first and having my engine fuck up because my timing is way off and on 91oct

Can't adjust timing manually. Have to do it with the computer. Can set te timing to what ever on aem before starting it.

Lol okay well first off you're not gonna like melt a piston at idle because your timing is off. So the comment about being on 91 doesn't matter, the car will run rough if timing is that far off.

You need to load a 2jz base map which will have 2jz timing. And you'll be fine.

This is what you need to do if you want to verify timing at idle tho: plug in the aem, hook it up to your laptop, start the car, and see what the timing is at. Should be 10deg

Aem will do auto sync as well to timing. May take a couple cranks tho for first start because they all have to do a full revolution

I wonder how tight the resolution of the timing could be then on a vvti equipped ecu and cams? I mean a non vvti, were talking a tooth, but with vvti, do you think it could be down to even a half tooth, quarter tooth even less? Sorry if this sounds dumb, but the correction probably is tight wouldn't you say for advance or retard?

Great build and info in this thread. Thanks.

For anyone who cared to follow my build I want to know what you guys think this thing is gonna make on a dyno with e85 and enough fuel to take it to its max?

Just curious to see who's closest before it gets up on the dyno and run it at the track 1/4 mile. ET/Mph.

We can make it interesting if person who guesses closest I will PayPal $25usd.

So it has to be accurate numbers so many can guess.

Example

Dyno
Whp and torque
637 @ 567

1/4 mile.
ET/mph
11.75 @ 124
