can someone please tell me why they use a resistor for the fuel pump?

i believe it switches from 9v to 12v....when you do the walbro 12v mod you bypass the resistor to keep a constant 12v instead of it switching,its easier for tuning

Probably to keep it absolutely silent, and increase pump longevity.

I've never seen a benefit to the "12v mod" if the system is healthy. FP shouldn't change between 9 and 12v so there should be no difference at all in tuning as far as i can determine.

you usually dont do the 12v mod on the mk3 oem fuel pump...usually with bigger pumps
