as far as the 47 thing is
ill try to find the website but there is a number on your tailights next to the toyota mark. mine reads 47. hah. it was a japenese sight. il look for it

yeah i aint no pimp i want to rebuild so look foward to alot of questions

rofls...pop out your hazard switch and check the back for numbers, you'll see that your car is really #14141!!!

if anything its going to be a # on your drivers side sticker in the door jam it should say production #.

no it is the number of the taillights out of 197 pairs maybe
it reads a bunch of numbers then toyota, then product no. 47/197,
and shanes read the same. when i looked and my friend alexs 89t black he didnt have anything like it. same on the other kid with the 87 and the guy with the 89t

hey i got coolant but the radiatior is getting low. do i put regular water in there or coolant. i need this before i leave work?

i saw a member of team dragsta and shane and they conformed its rod knock. i did what matt told me with the half quart of atf in the engine oil and its still knocking. now ill try the 15w40 and that might help a lil bit

20w50 is what im running and you can still kinda hear mine :naughty:

nothing like 20w50 in the oil pan and lucas no slip in the auto tranny.

Mine was very loud. It was a valve that was stuck open, not rod knock like I was originally panicing about.

nah i actually think it is rod knock your sound is really ticky and higher pitched plus its REALLY noticeable at idle.

What did you do to detect that it was a valve and not RK?

i didn't actually do the work, the place that did the engine took care of it.

it started doing that about 200 miles into the rebuild. they pulled out the injectors, noise didn't go away. they opened the bottom of the engine up, inspected all the bearrings, everything was good but i replaced all the bearrings with toyota anyways (since they didn't do this in the first "rebuild"). we replaced the oil pump while we were down there and put it back together, still knocked. then they took the top off and found the valve problem, fixed it, and that was it.

Thank God. That is exactly what mine sounds like! I have a chence then that my bottom end it solid.
Its easy to tell its from the head, and the valves click like hell. Hopefully its this. :icon_razz
