Fubar my 1992 supra turbo....damnit

Factory pressure is a long way from zero at idle.... both my 88 turbo and my 86.5 na have over 20 at idle....

according to TSRM spec 4.3psi on warm idle is the minimum pressure for our motors.

max is at 3k RPM 36-71psi

although i dont really like seeing my OP at 4.3PSI i do agree most of our vehicles on good oil on warm idle will run 10-20psi.

Sounds like its time for a rebuild adam or a swap maybe a part out. just make sure its not the valves ticking

Also check your flywheel bolts, If one is loose it can also make a knocking sound.

I think you should drain the oil to find out how much oil is in the motor/shavings and then re-change the oil and then take a stethescope or hose and search for the noise. Then maybe tighten the exhaust manifold studs and valve covers because it could be the head clicking. I think you overfilled the motor with oil and you have something wrong with your head and not rod knock.
