Thing is though mclaren have been very heavily punished for there crime if there was even a crime commited. So lets look at it a different way, if mclaren did this they would have been thrown out of the race for sure so why can three other teams cheat and get away with it. They had colder fuel so it makes the car run slightly faster. This surly is an advantage.
You make two good points but, the crime McLaren committed FAR outweighs the minor penalty that the BMW and Williams cars committed. McLaren basically had enough information they could have built and ran the exact same car as Ferrari's F2007, they also knew for some of the early season races Ferrari's pit strategy, De La Rosa (McLaren test driver), and Alonso exchanged E-mails discussing how they were going to use the Ferrari documents in testing and during races. There is no if about them committing a crime. The only crime Ron and the boys didn't commit was stealing the documents from Ferrari themselves.
As far as the fuel temperatures not being within 10* C of each other. Yes you're right there is an advantage there, colder fuel means denser means you can get more in the car, and it will create more power. But you have too look at how many variables are at play in the post race temp reading. The track temp during the race on Sunday was 145* F!!! Other variables such as where it was measured, was it shaded, in the sun, was there a breeze??
Also, as I just read on Ferrarichat.com the temps were measured in the tank, which is always chilled. The rules call for the temps to be measured at the nozzle, but there are no sensors for it, and it seems the actual difference in temps were closer to 4*C which doesn't make sense b/c the rules state there can be no more than a 10*C difference. :dunno:
Either way, like Don S1impson stated, it should be constructors points being removed as it wasn't the drivers who committed the foul. Hamiltons day will come, he showed he is very good, I would like to see how good though, by putting him with different team (Not going to happen since he is pretty much owned by Ron Dennis.) in a different car. I think the McLaren car was too good for him to start in, as was seen towards the end of the season when he started to make mistakes. I think he needs to be put in a car that isn't as close to perfect as the McLarens were. If that makes any sense.
