Any other opinions? Right now i am hearing mixed things about the centerforce clutch but it does sound like it would meet my needs. I also found this ACT clutch, i hear many good things about ACT but of course the price matches those expectations. The stage 2 says it is good for a stock 7mgte, but is this for marketing? (ie can it actually hold much more or are they trying to just get me to buy the more expensive one)

majority of the people i know these days stay away from centerforce...they tend to have a rep for breaking....

as far as the clutch price goes...you are gonna get what you pay for....i dont know if you ever did a clutch change in your supra but it isnt "fun"...took me 11 hours of non stop bitching, moaning, and swearing before i finished it....id gladly pay the heft price of a $400 clutch then to go threw all that bullshit again...i dont even want to imagine haveing to put a clutch in a r-154 considering its damn near twice the size of a w58.

Dude, I'd switch over to the R154 and save yourself the hassle. The W58 isn't designed for the abuse that a turbo motor can deal out. Besides, the R154 has a much, much greater selection of clutches. As for paying under $200 for a clutch, the only thing you can get for that price is OEM. A good clutch kit for your power lever runs $400-500 like my SPEC Stage 3 6-puck I just bought for my R154. You pay for what you get, hence the reason I'd never go anywhere near F1 clutches since they are so cheap and poor quality.

both times it happened while speed shifting into 2nd gear maby cause of the 4.3 rear gears and i have meaty rear tires it would chirp the gear then byby clutch
I have the w58, 4.3 gears, and my CM stage 3 never slipped. I was pushing close to 400rwhp (not dyno proven, though). Speed shifting isn't something you want to do to either the w58 or r154.

ye but when ur racing its like 1/2 a car length every shift i only do that when im losing lol

Then learn how to drive. ;) I've never lost a half of a car length on a shift, even to cars faster than mine...

I installed a fidanza flywheel, new slave, new master, new trans, new oem pp, new act disk, new shaftmasters single piece ds, and a braided stainless clutch line...and I smoke so ofcourse I had to take smoke breaks.

Also it was my first time doing it and I took my time to do it right.

Damn thats a lot of parts right there!

Yeah it's my daily driver so I couldn't afford to have my car down for more than a day so I bought everything new from the motor back....the trans was replaced cause when my stock driveshaft rear half twisted it shook so bad it blew the tail houseing bearing and the center support bearing..it was cheaper to get another trans from tubbie than to fix at a trans shop.

Think I spent about $1200 ish in total.

I dunno, personally I'd be verry happy with that time; with all the beer and smoke breaks in there. Never done a tranny on a supra though.

thats a lot more than just a clutch. when i did my clutch in my old car it only took aroung an hr and a half. but it was on a lift and i had a tranny jack.

that's a lie...and I know it is!

1. flywheel needs to always be
Resurfaced or replaced...it has to come off

2. So it took me aboutan hour to install the master

3. I replaced the trans but that didn't take any more time then had I used the old one

4. Single piece ds is much easier to install then the stock ds.

You can lie all you want about replaceing a clutch in 1.5 hours but none of use are idiots...hell id bet you you cant remove the starter in under 15 min...seriously man be real...3 hours by yourself would be much more believeable and deserveing of props.
