For all those people that debate whether or not to keep their MK3, the choice has already been made.

If you have to ask, if you should have an MK3, then you should not have one, in my opinion.

I am signed up for life. I wake up and think MK3, and fall asleep thinking MK3. I will never do anything else, ever, then work on, drive, or talk about MK3 supras. 20, 30 years from now, if I make it.

I'm an MK2 guy too, so I share the love. But MK3 is sexy. If your GF does not think an MK3 is sexy, time to start shopping!

On top of that, I like ANY MK3. It could be the slowest, oldest, nastiest NA, to the 800HP beasts. I'll spend time to talk with any MK3 owner. On the internet some are a little too power hungry. But I'll take my time out for any MK3 owner, always.

I agree I like the slow falling apart MK3's that need paint and the 1500HP Crazy MK3's. Because the slow MK3's owner knows he has a car that was great and will be great again. The 1500HP Owner was once the slow falling apart owner and is showing us how crazy we all are! The MK3 can be a pain, the 7MGTE can give all of us trouble, but you find that when the MK3 is a part of your family you will put up with the problems just like you do with your crazy brother.

Now I have to go drive my car.. :biglaugh:

I saw one of the cleanest mk3's ever last week. It looked completely stock and the guy was from Nevada. Goddamn he must have taken some nice care of that, it looked brand new.
It was an older man and his wife (I assume) didn't get a chance to talk to him but wow, I wish most of our cars looked half that good.

That's whats this thread is about ;)
My story - Father bought the car 7 years back. When I first saw it, I thought: Who's Probe is that parked in front of my house. Later I found out everything. I liked the car, good looking (but I didn't care A LOT, I was 10....)
Blank spot.
Last year the car came back from the paintshop. Now my father promised me, that I can drive it once in a while (cool! my interests rised).
Later he thought, who the hell will drive this car(he has a SUV)...(so now he gives it to me, when I get my licence, wohoo :)).
Now I'm in love with that beautiful car. I take care if her:icon_bigg

where to start!

well i have always been a big chevy fan, and driving trucks, so heavy vehicles were a custom.
being a young mecanic i was my neibor had a 84 toyota celica gt that needed a cluch, his son , who is one of my friends bought the car for 700 and abused her, and only got to drive her a month before the cluch went, needing a car for getting around i decided to pick up the ugly little beast (perfect body just not my type of front end..) and my friend got another settlement check in and purchased a 94ish 240sx with the dohc motor, after replacing tghe clutch an driving the car for over a year, my friend had been drinking and driving and put his 240 into a curb. and it was an auto !

while, i had picked up a pizza deliverin job and had some spare cash and was really starting to love the fast back hatch style cars, i offered him 500 bucks for the 240, whitch he turned down for a project s10 extended cab, witha 305&700r tranny, he had no idea what he as doing, and sold that truck to another one of my friends for 300 bucks.. knowing it was time for me to find a better looking car for multiple purposese, i searched the net for rwd cars, speficily the hatch style, really loved 240's but didn't want to invest alot of money into getting a turbo motor or building one from ground up, looked at the old 300z' and 280's didn't like the cramped engine bays of the v6 TT 300z, so voided that car off my list,

when i came across the mkiii, i had been looking at mkii's (being hat they had the same body as my 84 celica with a different front end) and found a site that had the car's history and modle years. and found the sexy car i wanted!

sine i now had my mind set on the car it was time to wait for the project i wanted. started saving my money up, and found a great deal on a down pipe, and purchased it before i ever had my car in the drive way.

abut a month later, i was at les schwab getting used tires and picked up the paper, flipped to the toyota section, and saw, 88 n/a targa ,red 158k bhg, 500 firm. i called hima dn made arangements to take alook at the car. the motor was in the hatch area' but the car was perfect, color was in good shape, and had a minor leak in targa, but no stains and just dirty from crumbs an paper's he never cleaned the car out, the seats were trashed but made no difference.

knowing i wanted a turbo i asked my grandmother for a graduation present for making it through high school, she agreed to purchase me a jdm 7mgte, and the rest is now history! and it's only been a year.

i love this car, i notice people staring all the time, and took me awhile to get used to, my new gf notices alot of people staring aswell, i always let her know it's cause she;'s beautfull, but after she denies it, i let her know they were probaly checkin out my car then.. :biglaugh:

this car is worth every penny i have spent, and multiplies it's self by every high dollar car i spank. sti's , vette's honda's HAHA, and even have gaven a few liter bikes a good run for the money

A few years ago when I was 12-13, I was reading my popsci mag that had just come in the mail. I believe the cover story was about a mkiv supra. The guy who owned it was pushing 1200hp out of it. After reading through the article, I knew I had to have a supra. I told my dad about it, cause he had already told me he would buy my first car for me. But he said no, those supras are way too much money. But then he told me about the mk3. After searching many an ad, we finally found a decent one within good range. It was an '88 n/a with 99k on it and in incredibly good shape. It was on the dealer's lot for 5k. Soon afterwards, we drove away with it for 2500 ^^

On the way home, on some windy road, my dad decided to see what it had so he pushed the ect button (yes it's an auto :p) and punched it. That thing took off (musta been downhill lol), and from that time on, I have been in love with supras.

I remember when I was in "high" school I was sitting in the back of a friends pick up . I was supra stoned and all I could do was laugh because that car in front of us said SUPRA across the back. Allnight long every thing was Supra!!. How are you.. I am Supra . How are the french fries ...They're Supra!!

I got my current Supra while I was window shopping for car with my wife. We went to a car lot that we had already bought a 92 prelude from and saw her sitting in the rain . She was bright red with a Shadow grey Int. Non turbo but she was 5 spd . I took her for a drive and was happy/sad because I had really bad credit and no cash.

Fast forward 6 months and tax time came I traded in my Ae101 . Got a second job and got my 92 red supra which is now turbo!!!! I loove my car so much I cut my honeymoon short to drive 300 miles south to get her once the swap was done ....Wife great ..Supra heaven

well i when to look at her and found out it wasnt turbo (which made my mom happy)
but man what a steep price
so i told her (yes a girl ownd this car)
I would have to think about it
so i went searching somemore and found the perfect car it had everything turbo, hard-top, five speed, was pushing 300hp (he had the dyno sheet) an he wanted 6k for it. i offerd him 4500 and he said hell think about it. next day i get a call from the guy and he sold it for 5500 to another guy. i was crushed.
so i call the girl up and offered her 6k for it and she said no she wouldnt budge i ened up getting the car for 8900 expensive yes but i wouldnt have it anyother way i love my car and wouldnt trad it for the world

wow there's some awesome stories here :D

i wasn't looking for a car at all... i was driving a purple honda prelude xx, she was tidy and stuff but to me it was just a car.

we took a small holiday up the top of our country to go visit some people but they weren't home, they were at their shop, so we stopped there. We did the chat chat thing and we got taken into their workshop area and once i got in there my mouth just dropped open

in there were two immaculate mk3s
one cherry black widebody aerotop 89 7mgte auto (the paint had that wet look shine)
and the other was an 86 1ggte narrowbody hardtop but still really clean

i told the woman there that the black car would be mine one day and she just laughed.

about a year later they had decided to sell the supras. Toyota were selling them on behalf for them. We went to go and have a look at them on the yard and we couldn't find them :? we were then told no no they're on the signature yard... oh k.. so off we went to the sig yard and there was the 89, sitting and glistening on the rotating pedestool in the signature yard showroom :D :D oh boy she was beautiful
we ended up buying it for $9600nzd

me and the ex husband split up and i lost my 89, but she was replaced by my 87 about a year later and i have 100x the love for my yellow banana coz i've done all the work on her :D
