We (Alabama fans) know how good Florida is, but we have a lot of respect for Bama's defense also. Florida hasn't faced many defenses as fast as ours. I think you guys will be a little shocked at our defense if you haven't watched many games. We know that you have a great offense........so I think it will be a good game.

Come on Tide..........dont' fuck this up against Auburn...............:x:

Either way, Alabama will beat Florida...undefeated or not. The game will be close and brutal but Alabama should come out on top.

Your statement is flat out wrong.....:biglaugh: Sorry about that Torque, I meant to say an average of 50 points a game.

My wish came true..........Percy has a sprained ankle. I'm still waiting to see who wins by more this week. 2 mins and Florida gets a chance to score again. But, beware, Bama pitches the shutout in the Iron Bowl. We're bringing the defense to the almighty powerful offense. We will see!

I'm hoping Bama went with a conservative offense this week so they didn't have to show Florida anything. Hopefully next week, they'll be a little more agressive with play calling........unless Florida can't stop our running backs. I can't wait.

Sometimes hope is all that we have in life Doward.............I refuse to believe that we don't have any chance at all of winning. I think Florida has a lot better offense, but I'm hoping we have a better defense. I"m also hoping JPW shows up and has the game of his life. Hopefully that will be enough to get the win, but if not.......we've still had a good season.

Major Wright's been playing damn well - hell, the whole team has.

The Tide's been doing very well as well - this is going to be a hell of a clash in Georgia next weekend!

I didn't say that. I said that they will face a better defense than they have for a good while now. Florida is not a Big 12 team. They have a pretty good defense too. This should be a pretty good game. But I don't see Florida scoring 50 this week.

1. I'm a Florida fan and would NEVER wish an injury to a player on another team, that's pretty messed up dude.

2. Florida is not an Ohio St. or Texas Tech (i.e. relies on one star player, Wells and Crabtree respectively). Harvin is just tip of the iceburg.

Oh, to the guy proclaiming about Alabama's speed on defense.....have you noticed the number of guys running sub 4.4 40's on offense and defense for Florida? If I was Alabama....I'd be worried about Florida's speed.

The only one impressive out of the bunch is Georgia, and Bama almost hung 50 on them as well. Florida State won't be so impressive either.

I'm glad you brought up same opponents. Yes, you're right....41 points is almost 50. As in 9 points (minimum of TWO scores). But wait, there was another thing you forgot to mention. How many points did Georgia score against Alabama? 30 points. Gators held the bulldog to 10 points....and that was with a late 3rd quarter touchdown by Georgia with 2nd string and under defense in the game.

I must say, it's really hard to compare College football teams. The only real thing we can go by (even though any team can win at any time) is head to head and similar opponents. Although comparing similar teams is a rough estimate, it's really the only thing we have to go by. So, having said that, let's look at teams that played both Alabama and Florida this year.

Georgia
Florida 49 Georgia 10
Alabama 41 Georgia 30

Kentucky
Florida 63 Kentucky 5
Alabama 17 Kentucky 14

Ole Miss (damn thorn in our sides)
Florida 30 Ole Miss 31
Alabama 24 Ole Miss 20

Ten.
Florida 30 Ten 6
Alabama 29 Ten 9

LSU
Florida 51 LSU 21
Alabama 27 LSU 21 (that was in OT too people)

Ole miss is the only team that beat Florida, and lost to Alabama. After that loss (Georgia, LSU, and Kentucky) the stat comparisons just become staggering for Florida. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a whole new ball team since the loss to Ole miss.

I've got to think that Bama is saving some tricky plays for Florida.

Saban needs to talk to Bowden and Spurrier about how things go bad trying to run trick plays against Florida.

Shut it Beej - it's not like YOU'VE played college football for Kentucky or something.

And trick plays? How the heck would you know what they're thinking? You got a degree in Psychology or some nonsense? ;)

Seriously, Alabama will be a tough(er) opponent than Florida has played in a while. Florida is ready for Alabama - I wonder if Alabama is ready for Florida.

Both teams are 2 wins from being National Champion. If you don't get the first one, you have no shot at the second. We will soon see. I'd like to think that this game is the real National Championship game.
