The only one impressive out of the bunch is Georgia, and Bama almost hung 50 on them as well. Florida State won't be so impressive either.
I'm glad you brought up same opponents. Yes, you're right....41 points is almost 50. As in 9 points (minimum of TWO scores). But wait, there was another thing you forgot to mention. How many points did Georgia score against Alabama? 30 points. Gators held the bulldog to 10 points....and that was with a late 3rd quarter touchdown by Georgia with 2nd string and under defense in the game.
I must say, it's really hard to compare College football teams. The only real thing we can go by (even though any team can win at any time) is head to head and similar opponents. Although comparing similar teams is a rough estimate, it's really the only thing we have to go by. So, having said that, let's look at teams that played both Alabama and Florida this year.
Georgia
Florida 49 Georgia 10
Alabama 41 Georgia 30
Kentucky
Florida 63 Kentucky 5
Alabama 17 Kentucky 14
Ole Miss (damn thorn in our sides)
Florida 30 Ole Miss 31
Alabama 24 Ole Miss 20
Ten.
Florida 30 Ten 6
Alabama 29 Ten 9
LSU
Florida 51 LSU 21
Alabama 27 LSU 21 (that was in OT too people)
Ole miss is the only team that beat Florida, and lost to Alabama. After that loss (Georgia, LSU, and Kentucky) the stat comparisons just become staggering for Florida. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a whole new ball team since the loss to Ole miss.
