Ok, so I have run into another minor dilemma. My service manual says to use Loctite on the flywheel bolts, but the TSRM says to lubricate them with motor oil. So what should I use? Oil, Loctite, something else, or nothing?

Would you rather look at your tranny tunnel, and think to yourself: "Yep, that flywheel 'ain't goin' anywhere..."

Or:

"Wherez mah legz at, and whuts all dis blood!?"

I like the first option better...

Also, according to ARP, LocTite is very slippery,
and requires less torque than a dry bolt.

And red LocTite is easily defeated wit heat.
When I snapped the heads off all 6 of my ARPs on my flywheel,
I heated the stubs with a little hand torch, and they screwed right out.
About 300°f, and the stuff turns to mush.

Trying to hold the engine from turning is hell though.

One of the ONLY times I ever use an impact as I prefure the control of leverage...
