lol.. I never said the 1j is a bad engine, just isn't as good as the 2j ;)

Maybe not in mark 3 chassis. then again a v10 probably wouldnt crack 12's without mods in that body:biglaugh: seriously stop criticizing the 1jz because the mark 3 tank chassis is too heavy for it. its a good balance in rx7's and 240's. that road race.

in any chassis the 2j is better.. its a 3L 1j pretty much.. more displacment = more power.. The 1j is still an awesome engine.. I loved my 1j when I had it.. it rode out.. it was a fun ride.. just upgrading it some more (.5L)...

Its like having a 50" tv.. its damn good.. but the 60 is a bit better ;)

but some people PREFER the 50 inch due to cost and different performance, along with energy usage. dont want to keep paying those high ass electric bills to watch the news.

BS. 2jz make lighter cars very nose heavy, not ideal for road racing. adding weight to the rear to compensate makes the car even heavier, and makes the geometry even worse. its like saying putting a 500 cid iron block in an chassis is better.

btw the bigger the screen the more pixelization you will get, you cant get around that..

There really isn't that much difference.. maybe 50 lbs..

If weight is that big of a deal, a 4cyl liek a 3sgte or even Aluminum sr would be a better choice.. hell a LS1 is even better..

But doesn't mean the 1j is better then the 2j (performance), just that its a better option for your goals and purpose for the car..

I did my research, an ls1 is heavier than a 1jz, its an all aluminium block but it has TWO heads. also does support the high rpms the 1jz does reliable for road racing. the Sr's cant hold the power and rpms either for long without alot of head and bottom end work. and the weight differnce is not as drastic as teh 2jz. matter of fact the 1jz is lighter than the ka24de.

Thats exactly my point.. doesn't mean the 2j is better then the 1j (performance), just that its a better option for your goals and purpose for the car..

but the 2j will perform better then a 1j if both tuned the same same mods.. it has more displacment and flow more air..

Both a 1jzgte and 2jzgte can make 500whp on 93 octane, thats all that matters. Both can make 700+ on race gas. Who cares if the 2jzgte makes 50 more hp then a 1jzgte if your 600+, at that point, it all depends on suspension and driver.

My buddy's 700+whp MKIV runs low 11s after a year of testing. My other buddies 640whp SC300 runs low 10s on it's first shakedown pass ever. Its all about the driver and suspension setup.

so will an ls1 .. its lighter than the 2jz and will perform better if tuned with the same mods, it has more displacement and flows more air. and again its lighter. but your not exactly switching to one. isnt it all about displacement and airflow? isnt that what determines a better motor?

airflow, getting rid of the BHG 7m-ge, and ease of the swap, along with the fact that the shortblock can theoretically hold more power than a 2jz if properly done right. i want something that is a bit overkill so that if something screws up, it all hasnt gone to shit, AKA, rebuilt 7m-gte blowing up from 20lbs through a 57 trim.

and having 2 2.5l cars seems kinda cool to me.
